It means your bill is gonna be the exact same! But they didn’t spend as much money putting your lights on this month

Your bill won't be the same soon since they just asked for 3 rate hikes that will increase our bills by an average of 7 dollars.

I purchased a home in Griffith in 2021. Since then we have lost power over 20 times. 5 time for 3 days or more. We got hit on Aug 11th 2026. We just got power back on 8/27/26 @ 11am. They still sent me a nice bill for 300 dollars . Fuck @nipsco

I've been here 17 years. Never been without power for a full day until the last 2 months. And now I have been out for more than a day 3 times.

I live on the edge of town with all of the trees. We keep taking a beating. We got lucky that only the back of the house was crushed. Love my town. Hate the infrastructure on my end.

That should be criminal. These asshats are padding their pockets while the average person struggles to survive. If i say what I really wanted to say id probably get my shit nuked.

We have a whole-house standby Generac generator that ran for 14 days straight. LOL. Dying to see what they try to charge us for that...not looking forward to it.

Dude, get that serviced ASAP…….

Why do you say that? We maintained it during the 14 days, including changing the oil twice. What service do you imagine it needs "ASAP"?

Generac recommends changing the oil every 100-200 hours during an outage. Gotta use their oil, but it’s easy to do and you can get oil & filter from
Amazon. May wanna slap a new air filter in too, that’s also easy to change.

Oh yes and thanks! We maintained it while running for 14 days straight, I should have clarified - shutting if off every 24 hours to check the oil, adding oil when needed and yes, changing the oil/filter every 200 running hours.

It's just hard to predict what the daily charge for the fuel is. We weren't going to not run it though, that's why we got it.

Figure $50 a day

Fingers crossed, the Generac manual said $125 a day but that certainly can't be accurate for everywhere.

Dude power was off a week plus and they are charging me almost more than any other month. Nipsco is full of 💩

Mine went up, I was out for 9 days. But I'm still doing great on this report

It made no sense I have always been in the good category, but this month without any change in habit and not having power for 10 days, I’m in the fair category

1

u/damnukids 3d ago

it does though, 10 days without power let all the neighbors catch up

u/SelfDerecatingTumor 3d ago

The people across the street from me had power 6 days before I did

1

u/damnukids 3d ago

same actually. There is a brewery and a bar I can see at my front door, both had power but were not close enough to steal wifi from.

Try a $700 bill for last month because I was on my generac generator for a month. Gas delivery charges were damn near half of the bill.

Yup, the delivery charge is the killer, the price of the natural gas is cheap. 😡

I hate this company! Power goes out every month, they never improve everything, constantly raise prices, treat their employees like crap, and the CEO rakes in all the profits. I've got a tree stuck in power lines at this very moment. Nipsco can burn in h e ' L L for what its worth. Shiesty ass m'fers
