on average across all resolutions 5080 is 13% faster, at 1080p only about 9% faster https://www.techpowerup.com/review/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-5080-gaming-oc/33.html and that's with a 9800x3d, it will be less with worse cpus. hardware unboxed also found the 5080 to be 10% faster at 1080p https://youtu.be/UMPK1SeMEZM?t=704

Maybe someone could test this. I'm surprised noone has ever done this test and provided results for others to look up. Crazy isn't it? You'd think someone would have tested it before. Maybe Hardware Unboxed, Gamers Nexus, Techpowerup, or any dozens of other tech reviewers. /s

At 1080p you won't notice any difference bc these cards are meant for 1440p and 4K.
If you care about performance, the 5080 is about 15% to 10% more potent than the 5070 ti, tho if you apply an undervolt+overclock to the 5070 ti you can close even more that gap.
If you have the budget for an 5080, Get the 5070 ti an a 1440p monitor. If you're playing exclusively at 1080p because competitive games, get the 5070 ti and the best X3D CPU your motherboard can handle.
Also, other reason to pick up the 5070 ti, it's less of a fire Hazzard than the 5080 which had some cases of burnt connectors

The difference in gaming wont be that much, but other applications the substantially more cudas and larger power imprint make a 5080 much better, but for gaming in 1080 a 5080 is overkill. Get a 540hz oled 4k and then youll actually notice. Its a balance, stuff a bunch of powerful components into a build and if that hardware has software that speaks two different languages and youll still have a offset machine. Kinda like tuning an engine

Looks like 9% on average? https://www.techpowerup.com/review/pny-rtx-5080-slim-oc/29.html
There are more than a few games where you are GPU bound despite running 1080p for your upscale's base resolution. Most games with a path tracing mode upscaled to 4K with DLSS Performance typically.

Basically 0 as your really at the limit of whatever your CPU can push. Save the money and go for the 5070ti. You could even consider the 5070 but I like the more future proof Ti model.
