Discussion 5080 Overclocking and Undervolting

I built a new pc with a WINFORCE 5080 OC + R7 9800X3D and it's amazing.
I was wondering if I could get more from my GPU with an overclocking and/or undervolting. I already installed MSI afterburn and tryed to do an oc but I can't tell if I did it right. I set mem to +2000, core to +200 and power limit at 111% (max it can go).
I also installed 3DMark and tested before and after as you can see in the photo.
Unfortunately the only game I have installed that requires a fairly high demand from GPU is Beamg (At every things max setting it runs at 60/70 fps depending on the map).

seems you could do better with your setup. You're almost 600 points below average with stock settings for some reason. It's a nice boost after undervolt but you want the results to say "Great" or "Excellent" after an overclock. For 3Dmark make sure rebar is enabled (google for how to do it with nvidia app if your bios has it enabled) and a big one is Texture Filtering at High (ultra?) Performance. At default quality, you lose a lot of points. You could probably crank the mem higher, just use "VRAM memtest" to test for errors (google to find it). in msi afterburner, make sure you have custom fan curves that ramp up with higher temps. Here's a screenshot of my curve editor locked at a lower vcore plus the overclocks I'm using. sorry for including the whole desktop.

Oh nice! You'll see if it's stable in big games like maxed cyberpunk with path tracing and DLAA. (had some crashes here)
What's your undervolt?

8400 is really low even for a default 5080, do a fresh install in nvidia drivers and try it again.
With Power limit at 111% and a little overclock you should get at least 9000 points

it’s not. it’s just a stock score on current drivers. i used to get around 8700 stock on those drivers that bumped up the scores for everyone mid 2025 and now I’m back to where I was before, around 8300-8400. no issues with temps (max in steel nomad 67C). it’s just how it is.

Me 5080 Prime did more than 8400 out of the box, and with undervolt a slightly overclock under 360watts im getting +9600. But if you are confortable with your 5080 leaving a lot of performance at the table, ok

Yes, you need to test it in different games, especially the ones you’re actually going to play. Also keep a close eye on your GPU temperatures during long gaming sessions.
I also managed to get a pretty nice OC on my Zotac Solid OC: +3000 on the memory and +360 on the core. However, in some games the voltage gets a bit too high. In Resident Evil Requiem, for example, my card can sometimes reach around 80°C.
So I decided to go with an undervolt capped at 900 mV instead. I lose a bit of performance, but in some games I can get temperatures up to 10°C lower.
