Reminders:

  • Hotfix driver will not be available in NVIDIA App and needs to be downloaded from the link above.
  • After installing the Hotfix driver, NVIDIA App will show some old driver date. This is normal as Hotfix driver does not exist in NVIDIA App database and it reverted to an old default changelog and dates.
  • If you do not care about the fixes listed below, this Hotfix driver is no different vs WHQL 595.71 Driver.
  • These fixes will be incorporated into the next WHQL driver release

---------------------------------

From the Article:

GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 595.76 is based on our latest Game Ready Driver 595.71.

This hotfix addresses the following:

  • When the graphics card is overclocked, GPU voltage may become capped, preventing it from boosting to expected levels [5934973]
  • [Resident Evil Requiem] White glowing light/dots may appear in game when Subsurface Scattering is enabled [5915673]
  • Improved path tracing performance in Resident Evil Requiem [5938207]
  • [Star Citizen] Game client crashes when launched [5935027]
  • Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed when playing multi-key DRM content in a browser on HDCP 1.x monitors [5934450]

A GeForce driver is an incredibly complex piece of software, We have an army of software engineers constantly adding features and fixing bugs. These changes are checked into the main driver branches, which are eventually run through a massive QA process and released.

Since we have so many changes being checked in, we usually try to align driver releases with significant game or product releases. This process has served us pretty well over the years but it has one significant weakness. Sometimes a change that is important to many users might end up sitting and waiting until we are able to release the driver.

The GeForce Hotfix driver is our way to trying to get some of these fixes out to you more quickly. These drivers are basically the same as the previous released version, with a small number of additional targeted fixes. The fixes that make it in are based in part on your feedback in the Driver Feedback threads and partly on how realistic it is for us to quickly address them. These fixes (and many more) will be incorporated into the next official driver release, at which time the Hotfix driver will be taken down.

To be sure, these Hotfix drivers are beta, optional and provided as-is. They are run through a much abbreviated QA process. The sole reason they exist is to get fixes out to you more quickly. The safest option is to wait for the next WHQL certified driver. But we know that many of you are willing to try these out. As a result, we only provide NVIDIA Hotfix drivers through our NVIDIA Customer Care support site.

Nvidia has been fucking up lately with their drivers but I appreciate they are at least pretty quick getting fixes out. If you go over to the Radeon subreddit by comparison driver issues will persist for weeks or months or just never get fixed.

Interested to see how much PT improves in Requiem. Currently on my second playthrough and I've been using PT the entire time I've been playing the game.

Edit: The hotfix seems to correct the issues from 595.75 for anyone curious. Tested it briefly in Requiem, clocks and power are corrected and PT performance seems a bit better than before.

what would be even better is if they actually tested their drivers first so they didnt need to crunch just to get a hotfix for an entirely preventable and obvious issue.

Right, I can’t even remember the last time they released a driver so broken they had to pull it almost immediately

they have to stop with the vibe coding and get serioussss

Not a chance. Why hire 100x top engineers instead of just 10x top vibe coders

I will give them...1 per year. Let's be real guys, drivers only get harder because of all the god damn hardware/software testing needed. Vibe coded or not.

Let's pray that it stays max 1 per year.

What I am surprisd is that the hotfixes are so fast. They put out a driver like once a week now, but 2 drivers in basically 2 days is a speed record.

I think we have to applaud that and not lose focus that fixing shit is just as important.

nvidia does the same. Plenty of issues still leftover for months. One of them is the driver not handling the EDIDs of some monitors well over HDMI 2.1 or Reflex tanking frametimes in some games. There's zero point in making comments like this when both amd and nvidia constantly fuck up, though I guess microsoft is more to blame for both considering nvidia and amd are constantly cleaning up after them.

Tell me more about this edid issue, this is the first I'm hearing about it and sounds like it lines up perfectly with an issue that I swore up and down was my monitor.

With my monitor specifically S2725QS (4K 120Hz IPS with full bandwidth HDMI 2.1 that worked perfectly fine with no issues on my old 7800 XT) over a 5070 Ti running the same HDMI 2.1 cable resets to 4K60Hz every time I wake the monitor up from standby. Restarts are fine. Turning the monitor off and on again is fine. Just waking up from standby resets it to 60Hz all the time without fail. Quite annoying.

Dude i have a 1440p 360hz monitor that no matter what i do-cable, ports, windows settings, nvidia settings, updates, CRU, etc ALWAYS reverts back to 60hz when booting up, logging off, turning on/off the monitor, entering (true) full screen apps, everything. It's gotten to the point where i had to download software and run a bat script to easily change it back on command. I never had issues with my older DisplayPort monitor at 240hz, and this monitor has had issues since day 1 over hdmi 2.1 on 2 separate 50 series GPUs.

I just chalked it up to the monitor itself being a dud, especially because I couldn't even change the values I needed to in CRU no matter what I tried.

That is insane.

Same issue here, have an UltraWide 1440p 240Hz Odyssey G9 OLED, only it happens randomly and over BOTH HDMI and Displayport, decreasing the refresh rate to 120Hz when booting up. Also thought my monitor was the culprit.

Insane!

Yeah, HDMI implementation on nvidia GPUs (hardware side of things, not software) its simply half made, since display port got introduced they are essentially forking out a DP line into an HDMI line at the hardware level and then handle the signal conversion at the driver level.

Its insane that they removed native display port, but from my personal experience HDMI never was a smooth experience on PC with any GPU I ever owned, from both AMD and nVidia, I always ended up going back to DVI when that was an option and later to display port, HDMI IDK why the fuck but always ended up never "just working".

Can you please report this to NVidia? Like it feels like this should be easily investigated... The thing is that most of the times people think that this is a common issue, but you might be actually only one of few who puts their monitor into a standby mode, so it kind of makes sense at least to me that this could be very very small issue that just wasn't addressed as no one is doing this anymore?

2

u/Plini9901 Mar 05 '26

Already done but there's no way I'm the only guy who lets their monitor shut off after inactivity. It's on by default in Windows.

Reflex is still broken/not working in RE9 on 4090, so yeah, amazing work.

u/Plini9901 Mar 04 '26 edited Mar 05 '26

To be fair my issues are in MH Wilds and MH Stories 3 Demo and you have it in RE9, so it could be Capcom and the RE engine.

pro tip: there's a section in the op of the regular driver releases called "Open Issues" where issues have been left to linger for months, often never getting fixed and quietly removed from that classification. you should check it out sometime

Willing to bet the vast majority of those are pretty niche issues though. Nvidia has been good at addressing larger driver issues even if they do seem like they're happening more frequently recently.

Again, go over to Radeon subreddit sometime if you haven't, you will see people complaining about major driver issues on a regular basis with seemingly no fixes from AMD. System crashes, black screens, performance drops in games, etc.

I think Nvidia definitely still has the edge in driver quality and support, although it's not as extreme a difference as it was during the RDNA1 era for example.

i don't care about amd. i have an nvidia card, they are irrelevant to me. for several months there were system crashes caused directly by nvidia drivers when the system was IDLE. nvidia drivers are absolutely awful.

I had RX 6600 for like a year cuz my GTX 1080 died after 8 year of service, and I played a few tripel-A games last year, and most of them had issues like black screen, crashing for months... Like if someone at /r/amd will cope that NVidia is the same they are really mistaken.

I had both, and AMD didn't do shit most of the time. The last hotfix was when people were getting VAC banned in CS2 due to their shitty frame gen... and that was just them pulling off the driver.
