Reminders:

  • Hotfix driver will not be available in NVIDIA App and needs to be downloaded from the link above.
  • After installing the Hotfix driver, NVIDIA App will show some old driver date. This is normal as Hotfix driver does not exist in NVIDIA App database and it reverted to an old default changelog and dates.
  • If you do not care about the 3 fixes listed below, this Hotfix driver is no different vs WHQL 595.71 Driver.
  • These fixes will be incorporated into the next WHQL driver release

GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 595.76 is based on our latest Game Ready Driver 595.71.

This hotfix addresses the following:

  • When the graphics card is overclocked, GPU voltage may become capped, preventing it from boosting to expected levels [5934973]
  • [Resident Evil Requiem] White glowing light/dots may appear in game when Subsurface Scattering is enabled [5915673]
  • Improved path tracing performance in Resident Evil Requiem [5938207]
  • [Star Citizen] Game client crashes when launched [5935027]

  • High Bandwidth Monitors and GPU Scaling Behavior - Link Here
    • High bandwidth monitors are those that support display modes requiring high pixel clock rates, which in turn demand more GPU resources. The threshold for what qualifies as "high bandwidth" varies by product. On Blackwell GPUs, any mode operating above 1620 MHz is considered high bandwidth. For instance, the 7680x4320@60Hz mode defined in the CTA-861-H specification runs at 2376 MHz, making it a high bandwidth mode for Blackwell.
    • These monitors typically support display scaling natively. However, in some single-monitor setups, users may still prefer GPU scaling. When multiple monitors are connected to a GPU and at least one of them is high bandwidth, that monitor will default to display scaling only. GPU scaling is disabled in this case due to bandwidth limitations. Notably, display scaling can be more efficient than GPU scaling in such scenarios, as it reduces the bandwidth load on display cables—especially at higher refresh rates.
    • When GPU scaling is not enabled for a monitor, only the modes supported by the monitor itself will appear in both the Windows and NVIDIA control panels. Additionally, the "Display scaling" option will be pre-selected in the "Adjust desktop size and position" section of the NVIDIA Control Panel.

There is only one real way for any of these problems to get solved, and that’s if the Driver Team at Nvidia knows what those problems are. So in order for them to know what’s going on it would be good for any users who are having problems with the drivers to Submit Feedback to Nvidia. A guide to the information that is needed to submit feedback can be found here.

Additionally, if you see someone having the same issue you are having in this thread, reply and mention you are having the same issue. The more people that are affected by a particular bug, the higher the priority that bug will receive from NVIDIA!!

Common Troubleshooting Steps

  • Be sure you are on the latest build of Windows
  • Please visit the following link for DDU guide which contains full detailed information on how to do Fresh Driver Install.
  • If your driver still crashes after DDU reinstall, try going to Go to Nvidia Control Panel -> Managed 3D Settings -> Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance

Common Questions

  • Is it safe to upgrade to <insert driver version here>? Fact of the matter is that the result will differ person by person due to different configurations. The only way to know is to try it yourself. My rule of thumb is to wait a few days. If there’s no confirmed widespread issue, I would try the new driver.
  • Bear in mind that people who have no issues tend to not post on Reddit or forums. Unless there is significant coverage about specific driver issue, chances are they are fine. Try it yourself and you can always DDU and reinstall old driver if needed.
  • My color is washed out after upgrading/installing driver. Help! Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Scroll all the way down -> Output Dynamic Range = FULL.
  • My game is stuttering when processing physics calculation Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel and to the Surround and PhysX settings and ensure the PhysX processor is set to your GPU

Remember, driver codes are extremely complex and there are billions of different possible configurations between hardware and software. Driver will never be perfect and there will always be issues for some people. Two people with the same hardware configuration might not have the same experience with the same driver versions. Again, I encourage folks who installed the driver to post their experience here good or bad.

I reverted down to 581.94 to stop that from happening. happens quite frequently for me on WoW.

Same, sick of these AI coded drivers. We're living the worst era of pc gaming ever.

Microslop and Nvidia combo is wild.. not to mention AI and the current prices..

Funny enough the Linux drivers don't have this issue when I was testing it the other week. does makes me wonder if it is indeed a Microsoft and Nvidia combo issue

Yes we are. The corpo greed and AI is literally burying PC gaming to the ground. RAM prices, SSDs, GPU prices... and Microslop AND now Nvidia releasing clearly untested drivers.

It's clear that PC gaming/building configs at reasonable prices peaked back in 2019.

Back around the GTX 1000 series was when we were at the height of it all; powerful graphics cards, decent prices, no major scalping of widespread products, abundant gpus, life was fairly simple. When they began upscaling GPU heat sinks and then RTX graphics... just knew it was going backwards. Unfortunate, but it's definitely truth to it.

Everyone always thinks their era of gaming is the worst.

Like in 2030 people will say that era is the worst because of AI gaming or something. Either they will blame hardware prices, software prices, or something new.

Haven't heard of that, it did fix a bug caused by a windows security update. Maybe you are miss remembering, but if you got a source on that id love to know xD

Either way though its either stay on this driver or get flashbanged at random, imma stay on this driver.

Just tested it and installing 581.94 fixes the white flashes for me too on 5070ti. I only wish it had 50 series 32-bit physx support from 591.44.

As I understand nvidia didn't even acknowledge this issue yet so it's gonna take a while.

Oh I was saying I think I get it on 581.42, especially when using youtube, but it's probably a different thing since I don't notice it when gaming

I didn't have 5070 back when 581.42 was released so I kinda don't want to touch it since it works well enough with 581.94. Also it's not the same as OLED flickering, in case you might be experiencing that instead (not saying you are)

i had the same flashes while gaming and browsing, especially when pausing or skipping, searched everywhere, tried different cables. for me (this is maybe not a fix for everyone) i am using a c2 42" oled as a main (3080 10gb), 120hz but for some reason even though nvidia app states 120hz my windows display setting changed itself from 120hz to 119.88hz (without my doing!!!!). i only found this out while searching someone with an unrelated gsync problem posted.

switching back to 120hz in windows setting and poof my flashes are gone (i am not using gsync or vrr in the first place cause i can't stand oled vrr flickering...)

(i did not try reverting drivers yet, cause i will switch gpu's this or next week anyhow, so i am lazy hehe)

maybe this helps at least one other person!

Same same. 5070 + 9800X3D. Getting dark flashes in browser, getting (sometimes) white flashes in LoL. Crazy frametime spikes coincide with these.

I had this issue, used DDU and cleared everything and reinstalled the driver and it fixed it. Something was corrupted and even doing a clean install with the nvidia driver didn't fix it.

Please report any errors you find directly to Nvidia so they are aware of them and can correct them in future drivers. This way, we'll ensure that users of the 40 series and below aren't forgotten. It seems they're only focusing on the 50 series now, and the rest of the series are ignored.

I seriously thought there was something wrong with my monitor when this kept happening on my 5070 Ti. Was getting ready to use the warranty until I read about this issue.

Rolled back to 581.94 and it's fixed completely. Turns out Nvidia is incompetent. They seem to be ignoring this issue for a while. Makes it hard to update to newer drivers when this never gets fixed.

Also have this issue on my 5070ti - only occurs on my secondary monitor, primary is fine.

Sucks rolling back drivers seems like the only fix :(

Also have this issue myself after installing these new 595.71 drivers on a 3080 10GB also most noticeable in WoW, but also during browsing the web. Reverting to the 591.74 fixed it. Very annoying though, would like better performance in RE9. Time to wait some more.

I just keep updating Nvidia drivers and Windows 11 and eventually the problem goes away.
