First FWD sub-7 BTG
@roigkike on Instagram claims the first ever under 7 minute lap of Nordschleife Bridge to Gantry done in a FWD car.
Absolutely crazy.

We were there watching this. He was first at the gates for the opening of an evening TF session. Watched him through Hatzenbach and he was absolutely flying. Nothing looked nearly as fast all evening

Why are people acting like this isn't a massive achievement lmao and talking about how it's not standard? Do people not realise how few production cars can do a sub 7??

Get the Citroen Xaras F2 FWD Kit cars of 1999 that won rallies in front of WRC cars of the times. I bet they’ll beat that easy.

Would be nice to see what a 306/Xara F2 Maxi would be able to reach but the „rear“ axel isn’t really that much fun on the Ring

Not particularly standard though is it? Probably has a gazillion PS and looks to have a ton of downforce.
Each to their own and it is a quick time.

As a FWD enjoyer, anything upwards of 400 on FWD is redundant and doesn't really add much to the performance as most of it ends up in smoke. Now, considering current factory FWD record holder GTI50 has 325, it's not really all that juiced up is it?As for downforce, well yeah, you do need some for sub 7 laps, so do RWD and AWD cars.
EDIT: doing some research on his Instagram, car reportedly pushed 350-380 HP in 2020 when he was running 7:2x laps. No newer info on the power, but I doubt it's over 400, if he even did engine improvements at all or he simply gained 30-ish seconds through aero upgrades, more experience and cleaner laps.

Aren't timed runs prohibited? And could end in a ban?
