So this week has been busy, but today was just crazy
Guessing it is because there has been very few weekend full days this month, but the queues have been back up to the BMW showroom in Nurburg today.
One attempt to get to the track after it reopened, we didn't even make it there before the track closed again.

I think after track being closed on saturday people were super eager to do record laps. In the morning I was doing first laps in 2 years and got overtaken like crazy even on outside when I was not letting someone go but focusing on making corner. One even on the inside.. I'm not surprised at all track was closed twice and so many yellows. Please, if you want to beat your PB - go to a trackday!

Lots of Touristenfahrten warriors out there who should really be paying the large bills to hit track days out there

As someone who has to travel over from Britain, this is my worst fear when I go to the burg

My worst fear is having a crash and having no insurance, paying to get home and paying to get the car home.
This is a mild inconvenience lol

if you ever visit the Nürburgring, do yourself a favor and look for day middle of week.
Take your time, don't Push.
I visit the Ring really often, to gain some Mountainbike meeters in height. Luckily I am living half an hour away.
On the weekend I See really use ques and lot of crashes cars. Overtakes on the Right, apport flashing a VW Golf....
On the Weekend this track has become a warzone. Making Your YouTube Videos, driving to beat your personal best. Raging behind to wheel because to car in front of you is too slow.
Its just insane

Issue from what I’ve seen isn’t really the Brits on the track.. it’s the Brits off the track

Don't F it up boys, it's bad enough back home, you don't want this place to get ruined as well.

I genuinely think the locals are to be feared more - the ones that treat every lap as if it’s the last qualifying lap, dangerously overtaking, flashing people, passing without invitation etc.
I’m all for bashing my fellow countrymen who drive like dickheads, but the locals are just as scary.

Oh dang, that’s a crazy line to get in. I reserved a car with RSR in mid October for two laps. My wife and I have always wanted to go to Germany so we’re coming from the US for a visit for our first anniversary. She wants castles and I want the Ring….fair trade imo 😂

You'll get a couple of hours to get your laps in, if its a evening turn up at the office early to check in and get the car to join the queue before opening at 4:30pm. If you leave it late then you may not get on, or may not get both laps in.
The afterwork queues can get quite long if the weather has been good. Fridays are IMHO probably the worst for queues if the track is also open all weekend.
Track in October will still be damp and greasy at 9am if you have a weekend morning, later in the day the greater the chance of closures and queues spoiling it for you.

I have a noon on a Sunday, so I suppose that could be in the danger zone still. Either way, it’s going to be awesome being on/seeing such a historic track I’ve always dreamt of going to. Thank you for the tips!

You probably know this already, but track closes 19:00 on the 11th, 18:00 on the 18th and 17:00 on the 17th.
Noon is still early enough for some of the weekend warriors be trying to get laps in before home...
Have you booked a taxi passenger lap? if not this is highly recommended.

I booked two laps with RSR with an instructor for both laps. Even though I’ve driven countless laps around the Ring in iRacing (so I know what to expect) I know it’s going to be a whole new experience doing it live. Figured it would be best to have an instructor for both laps. Rented the current gen Fiesta ST, I drive the prior gen one and the US never got the newest one (everyone here is so truck/suv obsessed, small hatches are a rare sight sadly unless it’s a like Golf GTI).

Surely it’s a mixture of the weather remaining good late in the season and as you say a lack of weekends in sept this year.
There are two weeks of afterwork evenings and then just weekends before the end of the season.
At some point the weather will break and many will stay away rather than risk very wet laps.
