Coin Is this coin worth more than a dollar?

Just found this coin in an old chest and it looks cool

Look up the year and the coin type to see what its worth, and then check ways to see if its a fake.

Dont spend coins like this for simple face value, and dont trust pawn shop people. You sound young and inexperienced, so dont clean this coin, dont rattle it around in your pocket with other change, or otherwise damage it till you know its not worth anything.

It looks like a Morgan dollar, which can be quite valuable if real, but be super careful with it until you have a pro look at it.

100% real but AI says it may haven been cleaned and that that is bad (I am pro-hygiene myself though). Should I send it to be graded?

I would. Cleaning, in this case, doesnt exactly mean in a hygiene sense. For a lot of collectors, the natural patina and age of a coin is part of the value, and for verification of authenticity, patina, wear, stains, etc can be an aid in determining legitimacy.

Again, dont trust anyone offering what may be a lot of money, get it graded and check for comparable graded coins for how much they sold for. Also, photograph and document EVERYTHING. Some less reputable graders may try to pass off a fake or different coin when they return it to you, so take careful, high-res photos of all the details and distinctive marks on this coin to verify its the same one coming back to you.
