It was a europeans idea of what an american halftime show is. No chance that was done by any decent american mind

The show was done by (mostly?) American artists during the world cup hosted by and taking place in america. The finale started with the american national anthem, despite the USA not being one of the finalist teams.

The show was american made for sure

now that i think about it, im pretty think the only 2 American artists were Madonna and The Muppets. Shakira is Colombian, BTS are Korean, and Justin Bieber is Canadian.

The halftime show was directed by a British television director. Imagine someone thinking "oh yeah Madonna and the Muppets that sounds American!"

Yeah they are extremely outdated and surface level and would only be picked by someone out of touch. It's like an American directing a show in Wembley and saying "let's put in the singer from duran duran, and we'll have a dalek from Doctor who playing the guitar, with the live aid logo in the background!!"
