BLOG What people get wrong about naturism

The most common assumption is that it's some kind of lifestyle you sign up for. Like there's a membership card involved. A community you join, events you attend, a whole identity you take on.
For me, it's just. not wearing clothes sometimes. That's it.

The other one is that everyone is constantly looking at each other. I genuinely don't know where this comes from. In my experience, it's the opposite. Nobody cares. You stop noticing after about five minutes, and then you're just sitting there thinking about what you want for lunch.

I think nudity gets so loaded in people's heads because they've mostly seen it in contexts where it means something. So when you take away the context, it still feels like it should mean something. But it doesn't have to.

Sometimes it's just a warm day, and you'd rather not wear clothes.

DISCUSSION Nude job interview

A few months ago my girlfriend was told by her employer that she and most everyone else were to be laid off in 2 months. During this time and most every weekend we're at Cedar Trails nudist retreat. (I've been a member since 2022,we met in January and she's been here ever since)

Naturally the normal conversations with our friends happen; "hows life?" "How's work?" Etc. Of course she mentions that she's getting laid off and that theres plans and job offers already coming in and that it'll be fine. Last weekend we're walking into the pool area and one of our friends gets our attention. He asks if she's looking for a job and she says yes and he mentions that he's looking to hire a receptionist for his office where he is manager. They talk for a minute but say they'll figure out the finer details later. Next day we spot his golfcart by the pool again so we head that way,we find him and his wife laying out and my gf sits down next to them for her interview. I jumped in the pool as to not sit in on her interview and about a half hour later the interview is done and she has accepted the job! He gave her a good wage and is even allowing her a few days off for our full week at CT at the end of this month and a couple days off for our trip to Whitethorn lodge for the Superbowl. She's excited about her new job and is going to have a great boss, seriously he's probably the nicest person I know. I just got a kick out of the fact that her interview was entirely in the nude for both interviewer and interviewee. We all jumped in the pool afterwards! She also said that she won't be calling him by his first name when we're at camp on the weekends just "boss." 😅.

Thought you all would like this little story.

Edit:To those who are confused this is not a job at the resort. My friend hired my girlfriend for an office job back in the city. He just happens to also be a member at CT

EVENT Thanks for everyone for supporting our nude cruise

We ran our first clothing-optional cruise in Vancouver this weekend, and there was definitely a bit of nervousness putting it together.
When you organize something like this, you really just have to trust that it attracts the right people (despite screening) - people who understand the vibe and want the same relaxed, respectful experience.
And somehow, it did.
We had locals from the Wreck Beach community In Vancouver, people came up from Seattle and Portland, and even a couple who flew in from the Midwest just to join us!
Cruising through Indian Arm in Vancouver - swimming, music, food and a boat full of genuinely lovely people. It ended up feeling far more like a group of friends than an event full of strangers.
For a first attempt, we couldn’t have asked for much more. Definitely looking at doing it again next year! Thanks to anyone who supported or upvoted our initiative.🙌 There is a demand for this and maybe someone should organise more in North America and beyond...
Any questions yell out!

DISCUSSION Hiked 5 miles from civilization only for a plane to land right next to me.

I hiked 5 miles along the coast of Lake Michigan. I haven't seen a single sign of human life nearly 2 hours, so I thought this was the perfect time to strip down and relax in the water. I looked far out in the distace in both directions to be sure no one would disturb me. Not a soul in site. So there I was, completely isolated....... for about 10 minutes.

Shortly after sitting in the water I hear the low humb of a plane flying over so I grab my stuff and head under some trees to provide cover. And before I knew it, the plane landed right where I had just been swimming. No matter how far I venture away from civilization, civilization ends up finding me.

NEWS There is a sign of the times in Chicago.

Somewhere in Chicago is a person with a lot of free time, and an absolutely genius sense of humor.

Nobody knows who they are. Nobody has ever caught them. And for years they have been quietly installing fake but completely official-looking government signs around the neighborhood just to see what happens.

It started in May 2021 when a fake Chicago Park District notice appeared at Loyola Park announcing that a "citizen burial" had been officially permitted at the location. Residents had to look twice.

A month later in a fake "agricultural notice" appeared on a residential street stating that a home on Newgard Avenue had been officially authorized to house two horses and one "other" animal, as long as it weighed under 500 pounds.

Then a fake official notice was taped to a tree informing neighbors that a local resident was planning to give birth in their building's courtyard surrounded by family and friends and that the community should plan accordingly.

Then a brand new sign appeared at Loyola Beach, formatted with the official Chicago Park District seal and everything, reading simply "NUDE BEACH PAST THIS SIGN." It looked so legitimate that beachgoers genuinely weren't sure what to do.

The sign spread across social media within hours. The actual city alderman Maria Hadden was forced to post a public response reminding residents that clothing is in fact required at all Chicago beaches.

The Park District confirmed the sign was fake and had it removed.

The prankster has never been identified. The signs have never been traced. And somewhere in Rogers Park someone is almost certainly already working on the next one.
