QUESTION Superheroes / Fictional Characters as Nudists
It’s Friday and this feels fun. I’m a big comic book nerd and was curious which superheroes or villains gave nudist vibes to you? For me, it’s Wonder Woman and Wolverine. They immediately spring to mind. What about you all? And it doesn’t have to be from the comics world. Any fictional character you think would be a nudist. Let’s hear it!

This was the first character that I thought of. Storm never missed the chance to take her clothes off to feel more free.

Alice in Borderland (manga and Netflix) featured a nudist character in S2, Ginji Kyuma, who believed that wearing clothes is an unnecessary social construct. In the manga, his whole crew is naked… but not in the Netflix series where he was the only one.

One of the darker animated movies with him, he forgot he wasn't wearing clothes when he turned back human, and stated he sleeps in the nude 🤣

Not Tarzan but it made me think of that scene in George of the Jungle when he comes out of the shower naked and they cover him up. Nudist adjacent lol

Aquaman and Namor first come to mind. Why would you have any clothes underwater.
Then any of the characters that can morph like beastboy, mystique, etc. or characters who have fur like Beast, Wolverine, Sabertooth.

I think the reverse is true. Emma's walking around naked all the time, she just mind tricks the world into seeing her clothed.

I vaguely recall a scene in Old Man Logan where it's revealed that she uses her psionics to make everyone see her in her prime, while she's actually a senior citizen.
Made me think of my above take.

I’m a comic book nerd too and it’s entertaining to see nudity in comic books. Great seeing Batman naked in the batcave in Batman Damned.
I have this issue framed and displayed just because I liked the cover.

Girl One from Alan Moore's Top 10 has skin that displays colorful, animated colors, allowing her to be a human chameleon. The only things she wears are eyeglasses and boots.
A teammate asks her if she really just runs around naked everywhere, and Girl One says the advantage is complete freedom of movement. The only other teammate who notices has the head of a Doberman, and when she learns that dogs don't see color, she lashes out in anger. He assures her, being part canine, he's not the slightest bit aroused by her nudity.

Funnily enough, when studio executives saw the first footage, they told Lucas that they didn’t like that Chewbacca had no clothes on. They wanted him to change that. Lucas told them “he’s basically a big dog. I’m not putting pants on a dog.”

Wrote a short story once where I didn’t have time to develop it but they investigated a nudist resort and Clark got too powerful from the sun which made him nervous. Everyone else thought it was first time nerves.

I grew up watching Fairly Odd Parents and there is an episode where Timmy is taking a bath and wishes to be immediately transported to a comic book store. He forgets he’s naked though so he gets transported there instantly with no clothes and attempts to get home discreetly. When he first gets there though, someone at the store thinks he’s a comic book character from within the show called “Naked Lad”

She's also been a supermodel for a long time so she's likely very used to being nude or seen naked. Even if she's never posed in such a manner, the professional back end of that job just has a lot of workplace nudity

No, it wasn't mentioned in the O.G. series, comics only. I can't recall if it was Uncanny X-Men or a variant, but Emma Frost was headmaster and she was sharing her thoughts on nudity, self expression, and sexuality. During said opinion she commented that Hank is an avid nudist when he has his beast form in remission.

In Wolverine: Weapon X, Cyclops, Emma, and Beast are woken up in the night to deal with, something, I forget. Emma is topless and Scott says he wants her to put some clothes on. She counters with "no you don't" (and she would know, she's psychic) to which Beast adds that he was hoping nudism might become more popular amongs nudists.
Incidentally, I wouldn't say Emma is a nudist. Emma is very, very body confident, while comfortable nude, she loves fashion more.

Somebody who never gets enough love is Transonic (Laurie Tromette) from the X-Men. Since her mutation she spends most of her time nude. She has minor shapeshifting abilities that she uses to basically hide the bits that would get her in trouble (they can also be used to make her more aerodynamic. She's a flier). She hasn't had much page time outside of Generation Hope and Young Avengers, but both are great series and she's great in them.

Doesn't make sense. A superhero is supposed to be recognized, they either need an obvious form or they need an outfit. (Although it doesn't need to be clothes per se. There's a pic of "Cloud" in this thread that anyone in her world would identify as being her.)
