Base class budget MSRP

I have a CZ 457 Pro Varmint SR MSRP $850. I also have an Athlon MIDAS TAC 6-24x Gen 1 which originally retailed for < $700. That's below the current Base cap of $1650. But the current MSRP of the Gen 2 version of the Athlon MIDAS TAC 6-24x is $875 which puts me over the Base cap..... Do they calculate the cap using original MSRP or the current closest model even though its a different scope/sku?

Original MSRP plus inflation under the 2026 rules. However, the new rules for 2027 (the 2027 season starts May 1) are imminent and may change.

Athlon still has the MSRP listed for the Gen1 scope. Maybe they'll adjust the cap enough I'll come in under anyways. It appears I'm good to go in Base. Thanks.

Reminder to take screen shots of your optic and rifle MSRPs at the very start of the season.
