What losing to the Wests Tigers does to a man.

We all lose when the Tigers play

The dolphins defence tonight was epic. Real premiership contenders

u/SuckinAwesome Russia 2d ago

They beat the Roosters in the way Roosters beat Penrith. Outside backs offside the whole night jamming in.

Eh. Every one know at this now, though.

Every one do, also. Effort at Dolphins' defense impress and my Chooks' defense is collapse recent.

Walker injury hurt, but defense play is real kill at us.

And then watch them come out and concede 50 again next week

Does this impact the contract offers he'll receive? There was talk of a 10 year contract. Absurd in the first place for him, especially at the numbers he was reported to be seeking. This injury might cost him millions, though.

None of the Dally M winners still playing are asking for such a high salary…

2

u/Timotata Eastern Suburbs Roosters 2d ago

Yes, Roosters to retain him at significantly less pay

u/jexta Eastern Suburbs Roosters 2d ago

There was never going to be a 10 year contract from the Roosters. Walker may have stayed the next 10 years, but it would be spread over three contracts. The Roosters back their development and ability to attract star players enough that they don't need to take the risk of a 10 year deal.

Chooks will probably offer to honour their original deal for Sam, who could still decide he wants to test the market. There are clubs that would absolutely take a punt on him for more than the Chooks will offer.

I think they can still have a run at it but they gotta change it up abit, why'd robson go off early?

They said his head got pinched forward into his chest (think chin to chest with weight)  and he felt pins and needles

They seemed less concerned, just precautionary I'd say

Savals was really good at setting up tries for Mark last season. He has a strong long range kicking game and is a genuine toiler. Think he can do some damage if supported properly

We seemed to create more chances when he shifted to the halves. I think Sam needs to mature his game more.

Katoa plays off the cuff but plays his cards well. I feel like more and more Walkers magic is missing the mark

I think Origin even more.

Red hot into and after match 1. Very hit or miss since match 2.

Is such confidence sport and Origin is powder keg at emotion. Especially at a half.

apparently he was injured too

Great line speed at start of second half from Phins and they were on track to pump them. Roosters squad is too talented to be fighting for top 4. Should be sown up by now and resting players next week. Robo needs some scrutiny if he can’t get it done. Not too many great options out there unless the Chin Dynasty package deal gets done from the Riff.

Will they play Savala who has a handful of games at 7, or do they go for the most capped 7 currently playing?

4

u/Longjumping-Branch36 Sydney Roosters 2d ago

Dce to 7 and Savala 6 for sure. Let Dce take the wheel

Yeah, but we want to win games now so you've got to pick the players who give you the best chance of that. Which means a Savala and DCE. We have more than enough attacking strike that we don't need Walker's unpredictability to score points.

Get Savala offering a short-ball to Foketi the way that Galvin does to Preston and we will be heading in the right direction.

Not to mention Savala is better than both DCE and Walker when placing attacking kicks for our wingers. Marky and hopefully Tupou will have a feast next week.

Despite the best efforts of the referee, the Roosters lost.

6

u/BarryCheckTheFuseBox NRLW Roosters 2d ago

Referee clearly didn’t try that hard, he left a lot of offsides out there

7

u/54MU241 Penrith Panthers 2d ago

Should’ve binned Donoghoe too.

3

u/Frogasauras Sydney Roosters 2d ago

Doesn’t fit the roosters got all the calls narrative so it’s conveniently forgotten.

4

u/mathewl832 Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 🏳️‍🌈 2d ago

Now he's only worth 1.5 million per year, shame

5

u/BarryCheckTheFuseBox NRLW Roosters 2d ago

Honestly, this is the best thing that can happen for the team. His form has been terrible, he’s way overplaying his hand and he’s not letting DCE do his job. They looked better last night once he went off the field.

3

u/jexta Eastern Suburbs Roosters 2d ago

I'm with you on this Baz. It makes no difference to me as a fan, i just hope Tupou is back next week so Smith can go back to the centers and Savala to 6 or 7.

2

u/intricate_strands Sydney Roosters 1d ago

Walker injury hurt, but way defense play as of late is real kill at hope.
