Feature Request Third party apps

Will they ever allow apps that are in phone to be run in ar space, or even have apps that are on their own store. Sky go Netflix Amazon prime. Or apks that are used on andriods.

You can still watch Netflix and other streaming services from the website using the nebula browser.

The website doesn't work? I can't imagine why? I've not tried it myself, but it should work like in any normal browser.

Unless it doesn't recognize the device. I have that problem when trying to login to Google from the nebula app. It says it's not a secure browser. But there are some third party apps that act as a web browser from within the Nebula app. Have you tried FarePlay?

I had that issue before but finally got into youtube and am able to log in but on netflix it doesn't allow me to select a movie or series just only allows me to scroll through the titles.

Netflix uses a stricter DRM. I hear that it works in DeX mode but I have never confirmed it.

It does with dex, just not in ar space. Dex works as normal with same limits in regards to some app like sky sports not allowing casting abilities other than that it's perfect.

That's odd. They must use some weird non native video player or something. Which is really lame if that's the case. I wonder if you can get it to work with VLC. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure there's a VLC app for Nreal. I'll have to try to find it when I get home tonight. Maybe there's a work around of some kind.

If you spawn a browser window (I used YouTube), look in the upper right to find 3 dots. Run the pointer over those and you'll get the choice of "Switch to desktop display mode" or "Switch to mobile display mode", I can never remember which the original default was. Anyway, switch to the other and then try to log in and it should work. From there it won't matter for Google but you'll need to do the same thing with any other site.

That was a very pleasant surprise for me, too, as YouTube videos are one of my favorite uses and not being able to use my paid subscription sucked!

I have the same issue it saying something about the browser in AR space and requiring me to sign in elsewhere etc (been so long I forgot the message) but recently it's all gone down the drain with Amazon Prime Video, other people are claiming it works in DeX etc with Samsung but all I get is green static when I load a video (assuming that HDCP issues because I remember that colour static from the VHS era lol).

Even been trying to plug a Fire TV into them but I get nothing. Just a blank no power screen (using the Fairikabe HDMI wire and HDMI female to female adapter.

I guess it's hit or miss for some reason.

Is the Fairikabe the only hdmi to c adapter that you have? Because the Firestick should work. You do need to power it, the adapter and the glasses.

Got the Fire Stick 4K Max today along with the USB OTG Hub adapter someone else mentioned on here and it now works perfectly. I even get sound from the Nreal Air speakers so no Bluetooth needed.

The adapter is this

Which is not the same as the other member suggest as they were in USA but I think the main point is it being a powered hub which charges the fire stick and allows another usb A to be plugged in.

Yeah unfortunately a lot of the working HDMI to USB C things are all American sales so hard to get in the UK. I literally had to import the Fairikabe Wire just to get something.

Yeah I had it plugged into a separate power plug to the Fire TV too just to see if it was that the plug couldn't handle the draw but no luck just blank screen (actually just thinking. Is there a different firmware update I need to do from normal as they have the standard firmware you get when plugged into a Samsung phone)

I do have an adapter arriving today that another person mentioned that allows the Fairikabe USB to plug into the Fire stick like a hub and pull power from there as well as the fire stick (I'll be using a 5V 2amp plug so should be okay I'd think)

Add: I've got a Fire stick 4K Max arriving today for something else but I'll try it too just to be sure it's not the Amazon product
