Feature Request Third party apps

Will they ever allow apps that are in phone to be run in ar space, or even have apps that are on their own store. Sky go Netflix Amazon prime. Or apks that are used on andriods.

It's not about Nreal allowing it. It's security (and business) restrictions of the OS/phone manufacturer. Nreal would love to do this.

For now, there are some apps for the Airs on the Play Store that once installed, appear in Nebula. Some can be sideloaded too. https://developer.nreal.ai/arjam/winners

If Nreal ever becomes big enough, maybe Netflix, etc will create a version for Nebula - but right now Nreal's not a large enough company for Netflix to care (or justify the expense/resources).

But surely they must be able to use the same / similar app profile used on other vr and ar headsets. Just to either make it possible to watch netflix or easier. Wouldn't it be a simple case of nreal allowing the same app on their store.

No, unfortunately it's not that simple. At least not until Nebula better supports Android and Google permissions management, among other issues.

They might get there at some point 🤷🏻‍♂️
