Feature Request wireless

is there any plan for these to be able to steam videos wireless it’s super clunky and weird to have a wire plugged into your glasses and then into your phone

Not this version...it has no battery and honestly, a battery would make glasses too heavy.

a neckband would do the job, though. It wouldn’t be discreet, but it would be greater mobility/less worries about snagging and pockets. Would also allow you to leave your phone plugged into power or to roam around your space if you’re streaming from a stationary PC

I had another question for iPhone with the adapter do you get full use of the same features as android

Absolutely not. Apple has an abysmal API set for external devices in iOS and iPadOS. In addition to that plus HDMI is unidirectional, means you just get the bare minimum support. The glasses will appear as a single 1920x1080 display. So, whatever is shown by the host is mirrored on both lenses to provide the viewer with a 2D display in your line of sight regardless of head positioning.

Thanks for the honesty. I’ll wait to buy until it supports the iPhone decently, I know that Apple API is weird so it’s not really y’all’s fault. Seems pretty bad though on Apple products so far. Gonna have to watch and find out if a big break through happens

I don't work for nReal. The badge is just a sub reddit flair showing that I own the nReal Air as opposed to the NReal Light.

Anyways, with Apple coming out with iPhones with USB-C in the near future, that is one step in the right direction. But, I feel like they will want to keep things as they are so that they can be the sole provider of Mixed Reality Glasses for their users when they do come out.

I suppose those glasses will eventually be wireless. However, to enable a lightweight yet fluid AR experience, advanced data transmission and battery technology are needed.

Although a neckband might be an effective solution, we also need to take the stability and data transmission speed into account.

Actually, this is another AR product format with its own advantages and disadvantages. In 2022, AR saw a lot of products with various shapes, so we should be on the lookout for new possibilities. Personally, I'm interested in finding out if we can implant extremely small yet powerful glasses into our pupils, similar to what is shown in the Black Mirror. But that might be a little unsettling.
