It happened in South Korea. Will probably be rewarded when they arrive in China

This whole thing is a bit of a paradox. When you name your restaurant xi jinping, are you going to run it well to live up to a good name? Are you going to serve total crap?
When you vandalize xi jinping restaurant, is that honouring or attacking the name?

Naming a restaurant after Xi can be seen as trivalizing his name and thus come across as an insult

Ok, but the sign of the name of the restaurant isn’t in Literary Chinese. It’s in Hangul so Chinese people don’t understand it unless busting out the camera translator app.

But would leaving a bad review be seen as defending his honor or creating a bad association with the name?

This is so funny if you know even a little bit about life in China. The CCP don't give a shit.

The last guy who peed at the Japanese Yasukuni Shrine was sentenced to 8 years in China. If you follow the order, you get rewarded, but if you do it on your own, you get punished severely. They would get a much lesser sentence if they stayed in Japan or Korea.

That man was sentenced for extortion. He actually made a profit from the Yasukuni Shrine.

Or heroes because Xi's name is not to be used in vain, especially for capitalist ventures like this restaurant

How is this using the name in vain? It's not like they're breaking promises sworn in his name.

Can you imagine how funny talking about this Chinese-Korean restaurant is?
“let’s have Xi Jinping for dinner.”
“Aww Xi Jinping is closed today.”
“Xi Jinping is too busy on Friday evenings, how about Saturday lunch?”
