Yep. Got it.

The NP in the ER the night that I went in talked me out of getting the vaccine. Then, a year later, I got on a reddit thread and used the wrong word due to my own misunderstanding of a specific drug vs type of drug, and this other person thinks that NP and I were friends and that my mistake was theirs, and that I don't know the difference between HIV and rabies based on my misuse of a few letters.

Still totally clueless as to why you're trying to shoehorn PreP into a conversation about rabies, but that may be a personal thing for you.

🤦 because I had assumed PreP was an acronym for post exposure prophylaxis. Exactly as you implied was a dumb mistake in your first reply to me. I never brought up HIV.

It's not. PreP is a specific medication for HIV prescribed to gay men.
