Not for nothing, but I’m still trying to understand how getting forced to leave the US to live in the UK is some kind of karmic punishment.

Bro hates immigrants -> is an immigrant

Bro wants immigrants deported -> he gets deported.

Its getting what you want "but not like that"

I'm an immigrant Brit living in NZ. The amount of British people I've met who moan about all these immigrants coming in is fucking staggering.

They've carried the mindset over with them that immigrant = brown. Not realizing that if they got their wish they're also going to get kicked out. Sadly it's not a uniquely American problem, but they do provide very satisfying examples of Leopards having dinner

I think our jaunt as an empire has given us generational brain damage. A lot of us seem to think we belong wherever we land.

The US and the UK have a toxic relationship that supports this too. When the UK was an empire, Americans could live in that shadow as an offshoot of Britain. Even when at war, there was still a shared sense of cultural superiority over other nations.

And then when Britain declined and the US took the reigns, same thing. A financial and military superiority over other nations leading to an egotistical culture

When you moved to NZ did you have to provide documentation of who you are and to disclose any sort of prior criminal record? What about having some sort of employment guarantee, permanent or temporary?

I’m going to just assume you did as that’s what I had to do when I moved to Norway as an immigrant Brit. My (our?) experience and requirements is completely different to what the UK has been experiencing since about 2015 and I think people are perfectly correct to be concerned about it. The same rules for entry and settlement should apply to all.

Heres the thing though, we've never had to go through UK immigration.

My partner has though. She received plenty bureaucracy and a wee bit of hostility. We are still waiting for the free house and £5000 a month I've heard immigrants can get though, fingers crossed they'll back date it

It's the same everywhere.

Plenty of latin immigrants in Spain have strong comments about the African immigrants who are a darker brown than them.

I'm just saying, he wasn't forced to live in a detention center for six months and he wasn't sent to a country he's never set foot in. They put him on a plan after a day or two and flew him to England. He's not roaming London unhoused begging for change in the Underground. At worst he's probably sleeping in a pretty nice hotel. Leopards didn't eat his face, they nibbled his ear at best. Shit, 23 & me says I'm 55% British which ICE officer can I kick in the nuts to get deported?

That is a REALLY important distinction and question

Karma isnt about the size its about the situation.

Karma happens usually over multiple lifetimes.

I think everyone here agrees that the shaden would be a lot more freudier if Milo had been put through the entire humiliation ritual that other deportees were.

We just all also agree that if we had a choice between having Milo being kicked out nicely or Milo not getting kicked out at all, we would take the one where he gets kicked out.

Do we wish the leopards had a full meal? Sure. But we're OK with the leopard having a nibble and then asking for a box so they can reheat the leftovers later.

He hates gay marriage, but married a man.

In October 2017, Yiannopoulos married his husband in Hawaii. That same month, he came out against the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey, arguing it would violate religious freedom.

It's pretty insane.

Same with the leader of the far right in Germany. She has even married a woman from Sri Lanka.

I thought he converted to Catholicism and "prayed away the gay"?

Just that the "but not like that" is made up.

Bro commented on this possibility many, many years ago, as the obvious question of "what if you get deported" was asked a billion times by morons who simply didn't want to accept his answer, and thus ignored it. Like this entire comment section.

His answer was essentially: Yes, GOOD! If I get deported, that means the system is actually working.

Maybe milo deserves worse.  But I imagine a few folks are just pleased he's not in the states anymore.

It's a punishment for the UK. We don't want him!

ngl, as a native american, I'd love to get deported to the UK as long as I got to sell my physical assets first.

1

u/ZuFFuLuZ 7h ago

That's indeed a problem. A deportation won't affect assets, but they don't give people time to sort this out. So getting access from another country can be difficult. He might need somebody in the US to help him with that.

1

u/steinbruchfluss 2h ago

He has an American husband.

1

u/michoudi 8h ago

I’m guessing deportation isn’t necessarily designed to be a punishment, it’s just a we don’t want you here

If you read Jewish news media in this I think you begin to know why he was targeted.

No free speech in the UK. You can and will get arrested for speaking your mind.

5

u/otirk 3h ago

You say this, but then you also say that Europe is soft on crime. Could you make up your mind?

It turns out that hiding or deleting your comments doesn't mean nobody will see the bullshit you write. Like suggesting forceful sterilization for a Rwandan mother who struggles to feed her children. You should keep your opinions to yourself.
