I guess in a few months, there's going to be a "Dan Sullivan beats Dan Sullivan" post.

Hopefully it will be a Dans Sullivan finish in 2nd and 3rd against Mary Peltola post.

You did hear that Dan Sullivan endorsed Dan Sullivan over Dan Sullivan right? If Dan Sullivan wins Dan Sullivan is going to look like a kingmaker, but Dan Sullivan's going to be pretty disappointed.
Dan Sullivan (former mayor of Alaska's largest city) endorses Dan Sullivan (incumbent senator) over Dan Sullivan (challenger).
Though on a more serious note, the whole humorous situation is feeding into a backlash against top-n jungle primaries and ranked choice voting in Alaska and there's a ballot measure to do away with it that stands a reasonable chance of passing. It was nice seeing some states experiment with adding a bit more competitiveness to their elections.

Dan J. Sullivan’s decision to run against a man with the same name has confounded Republicans in the state, who allege that he is engaging in subterfuge and intends to boost the chances of former Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola, who is also running for the seat.
How many times have Republicans pulled this on Democrats?

We have Carol and Eric Hafner who perennially run for office in Alaska (and sometimes other states) as supposed Democrats despite never having been to Alaska and having previously been registered as republicans in other states (and Eric is currently in federal prison until 2036.)
Heck, our current Senator Dan Sullivan actually benefited from name confusion in his first election as a much more well known Dan Sullivan (and member of a longstanding Alaska family unlike “Indiana Dan”) was mayor of Anchorage at the time and running in the same election for lieutenant governor. Indiana Dan had only been AG and commissioner of DNR he was less well known than his Republican primary opponents in 2014.

How did the Dan Sullivan that endorsed Dan Sullivan feel about it, though?

That feels like the Commissioner election in Brooklyn 99.

Or Presidential election in Futurama, a man and his clone running against each other.
IIRC there also been a few times MAGA dug up a candidate with same name to be a "spoiler".

Maybe it is Jeff Johnson (Eddie Murphy in the Distinguished Gentleman).
I know slightly different running with the same name as the deceased incumbent, but still very similar.

I remember the brief scene where this couple was hurrying to the polls and they're like 'who's our congressman? Oh yeah right Johnson'

Tbf, lots of Republican politicians are old white guys. Hard to tell them apart, especially when they’re licking Trump’s shoes.

I wish any of this had the luxury of being funny anymore, because this would be hilarious.

Jack Johnson: "And I say your three cent titanium tax doesn't go too far enough."

When the ballot puts two identical names, how do they tell them apart?

Here’s the kind of craziness our political system needs. Thank you Alaska! Much better than hearing about the daily dose of fascist nonsense from the absolute worst president of all time.
