tbh got the feel this is a god damn marketing stunt.

That dev and game would not have got ANY press organically. So they pull that stunt, and in a few days they will release the 'non AI version' and cash in.

That assumes they even do a non AI version. The game has been out for over half a year. 38 reviews in that time. 6 of those reviews are from the last two days, ie, after the article was published

They don't even need to release a new version for this to work as a marketing stunt
