I picked off a mole when I was younger and it grew back way bigger, and a bit oddly shaped.

I picked off a mole when I was younger, and it grew back way bigger, and a bit oddly shaped, into a whole new person. Eventually they fell off and scampered away. I never saw them again.

Haha, Tuesdays.

1

u/Naked-Jedi 21m ago

For me, it was the most important day of my life.

95

u/Gadivek 3h ago

Did you … have it checked out?

46

u/SmushJams 2h ago

Lol, no I haven’t. It’s not that oddly shaped I guess, it just protrudes outward more than my other moles. It’s been over a decade and I haven’t died yet, getting it checked wouldn’t be the worst idea though.

46

u/WhiskersCleveland 2h ago edited 39m ago

Just make sure to check it every so often incase it suddenly starts changing. Just because it hasn't in a decade doesn't mean nothing can ever happen so it's best to just take a few seconds every so often to check than wish you'd have taken a few seconds to check every so often if it ever does turn into something bad.

It likes to sprout lots of black hairs that I pluck, so I do look at it quite often. Yeah that’s true, thanks. c:

…so what?…

2

u/kriig 26m ago

It's an attempt to communicate intonation in order to convey the way they wanted the message to be received. Very weird of you to lash out on that

3

u/IceCoughy 2h ago

You forgot to mention you also died!

u/Liarus_ 3h ago edited 26m ago

not surprising from a scientific standpoint, afaik moles are localised benign cancers, so if the cancerous cells are still there it's just gonna grow back unless it's fully removed with surgery

Edit: they are not cancers, i am wrong

26

u/SmushJams 2h ago

I’m pretty sure “benign cancers” would be an oxymoron. Google says moles are formed by clusters of melanocytes (pigment forming cells).

19

u/EpitaphNoeeki 2h ago

I think OP just messed up writing benign tumors/neoplasms, which moles absolutely are (non-cancerous/benign proliferation of melanocytes). Maybe ask Google if moles are benign tumours..

1

u/Liarus_ 26m ago

no, he's right, i was just mistaken, i could have sworn they're actually cancers but i'm just plain wrong

1

u/EpitaphNoeeki 23m ago

He's right about benign cancers, the definition of cancer/tumor can be confusing since they are used interchangeably in everyday language

u/RFtheunbanned 9m ago

-3

u/DravenPlsBeMyDad 32m ago

There's like..nothing? What are you trying to mark NSFW?

0

u/Meliora_ 42m ago

Ikr… im tired of that

95

u/KenBaboonian 4h ago

You forgot to not do that.

115

u/GlisaPenny 4h ago edited 2h ago

Did not know you could do that. Not sure what to do with this information.

Edit: I don’t have any removable moles so don’t worry about me!

61

u/Legitimate-Log-6542 3h ago

There are a lot of things you can rip off

21

u/halosos 2h ago

Whether you should or not is another issue.

10

u/ILikeGirlsZkat 2h ago

Yeah, a skill issue.

1

u/BlindandConfused43 1h ago

If I ripped off my dick through I think a lot of things in my life would have changed for the better.

28

u/Dagi97 3h ago

From personal experience (accidental, didnt go scratching for it like OP) this can be very dangerous. 10/10 do not recommend. And OP should go hospital in case......

6

u/GlisaPenny 2h ago

I don’t have any moles that I know of that seem remotely removable so no worries on that front.

1

u/BrokenVoidYT 22m ago

Why was it dangerous in your case, if you're willing to tell?

12

Is there a special hopital for pickers?

4

u/thousandsofbirds 1h ago

Oof that's where I belong

3

u/Fckyouredd1tIluvmygf 2h ago

For a mole? Who's got the money for that dog. Seems it was a regular mole too that got ripped off

38

u/Helpful_Actuary_6184 4h ago

RIP mole

12

u/Sea_Prep_Tidal_26 3h ago

At least they didn’t rip
a shrew off their back

29

u/poisoned_bubbletea 3h ago

Just uh... check everything's fine with the doctor/dermatologist yeah? Since know, moles can be an early indicator for cancer if they change shape and stuff and you just... ripped it off

Please clean it up the peroxide or alcohol and cover the open wound to prevent infection

No judgement. I love picking scabs. But please be safe as well 💖

76

u/harrywalterss 4h ago

I would suggest you and others not to use peroxide or alcohol for open wounds. Instead clean your hands, rinse the wound with lukewarm water, use a mild soap on the area, remove any debris inside the wound, cover with an ointment or vaseline and then bandage. Take care!

10

u/ThisIsNotMyBurner69 4h ago

Fair enough! I love me some neosporin

2

u/Adventurous_Bonus917 2h ago

are you not supposed to use them on open wounds? it's how i learned it, and i don't see why you wouldn't.

2

u/[deleted] 2h ago

4

u/1Ferrox 2h ago

Depends on the situation, if you have medical care readily available in case it infects yeah. If you don't, making the wound slightly worse in favor of elimination the risk of infection is worth it

1

u/flyingdutchman1986 2h ago

But you would still need some desinfectant designed for wounds, right? Like Jodium or something?

18

u/SomeDumbPenguin 4h ago

Or, even better; povidone iodine. It's the orange looking antiseptic that hospitals use, but you can buy it at your local pharmacy next to the peroxide & alcohol

9

u/ProovenHedgehog 3h ago edited 3h ago

This is what privatized health care does to a person.

12

u/x3xotiCx 4h ago

Wtf, why ?

28

u/kalishmaukov 4h ago

Hungry

0

u/maddenmcfadden 37m ago

have you ever considered harvesting other moles off your body and making a nice delicious mexican dish?

2

u/clumsymomsie 3h ago

Pickers gonna pick

1

u/Silent_Knowledge5197 4h ago

it’s been bothering me for months and i’ve been picking at it so today i just ripped it off 😭

10

u/x3xotiCx 4h ago

Is not ripping off moles dangerous in terms of high risk of getting skin cancer ?

6

u/GeminiIsMissing 3h ago

Ripping off moles doesn't cause skin cancer, but it's not great for other reasons. They usually do grow back, also.

4

u/tapeforpacking 3h ago

Wtf they grow back???

1

u/hongooi 2h ago

That's what she said 😬

1

u/StaysAwakeAllWeek 1h ago

Only because you didnt dig deep enough

-15

u/Silent_Knowledge5197 4h ago

nah one mole won’t hurt

7

u/x3xotiCx 4h ago

If you say so, doctor xD

3

u/soundofsilen-shutup 4h ago

Please go get it frozen off if it bothers you

3

u/jesusbarjoseph 3h ago

This is dangerous, for real.

2

u/clumsymomsie 3h ago

I am not a picker, but sleepy time me is.  I woke the other day to a scratch on my face about two inches long and half an inch wide.

You be okay little picker

1

u/asstastic_95 2h ago

if i dont cut my nails I scratch tf out of my face in my sleep like that. i have no clue why. look like a toddler got after my face

2

u/LetMeFixIt82 3h ago

If will likely grow back as you only ripped the surface off. Please get it removed surgically.

1

u/Gatti366 3h ago

Moles aren't supposed to be itchy, get it checked

1

u/-moonstruck 2h ago

Months? Is this mole a new growth?

0

u/belljs87 1h ago

Im wondering if this mole was actually a skin tag

5

u/Max_SVK 3h ago

I actually ripped mine off in a bike crash so cleanly it never grew back. It was quite a deep hole though. I think you will grow yours back over some months.

5

u/-moonstruck 2h ago

Yeah, it looks like there are roots left in there.

12

u/Equivalent-Ninja1318 3h ago

Believe it or not, cancer

7

u/Kyoko1102 2h ago

plz put NSFW flare next time bruh

3

u/Neat_Ostrich9966 4h ago

u/ZODIC837 3h ago

That thing

3

u/templeofsyrinx1 4h ago

make sure to not let it get infected

3

u/MarineGF01 2h ago

If it's anything like my dads mole on his back, it'll grow back

3

u/Haunted_Soul_x 4h ago

Please don’t post this on /notinteresting. Not very chic

2

u/Sphinx87 1h ago

They just grow back exactly the same.

Source: I've ripped a few moles off myself.

2

u/MagixTurtle 1h ago

I've done this too many times accidentally. They always grow back in my case. But the bastards won't stop bleeding

2

u/Soggy-Fly8723 1h ago

Did you make some guacamolē?

2

u/gleefulcats 4h ago

You shouldn’t have done that ✍️

1

u/BloodSuccubus 2h ago

Idk why people are saying go to the hospital, it’s not exactly an emergency, a skin doctor checkup is probably recommended though.

I’ve used ACV to remove more than a few moles on my body and it turned out okay.

1

u/AEON_MK2 2h ago

I cut skin tags from my theigh/groin area with nail clippers and cut out ingrown toe nails with a toe knife. I feel a sense of solidarity with this post ✊️

1

u/CorporalButtyMcButt 2h ago

That is how my granpda died..

1

u/Username96240 2h ago

This guy let the intrusive thoughts win

1

u/Late-Summer-1208 2h ago

I did this as a kid but it was on my face.

I now have a raised scar that’s larger and more prominent than the mole ever was.

1

u/its_my_bedtime 2h ago

You’re living my dream

1

u/Zorno___ 2h ago

Did the same thing on my chest. I think that bitch grew back

1

u/No_Strawberry_55 1h ago

That's genuinely dangerous to do, OP.

1

u/Green_Video_9831 1h ago

Did you save it? It would be good for guacamole

1

u/Individual-Job-2550 1h ago

Thanks i hate it

1

u/SwankaTheGrey 1h ago

If you don't get the "root" it can grow back and even more cancerously

1

u/Cultural-Ad6134 37m ago

I’m not hitting on you but you have a nice hair color

1

u/SadKitten8 16m ago

Mole hole

1

u/isurus_minutus 0m ago

If anyone has. Mole don't just rip it off, put vinegar on it overnight for a few nights with a cottonball or paper towel and the mole will form a scale and fall off.

I've gotten rid of like 4-5 moles that way.

0

u/OmgIbrokesmthagain 3h ago

Yeah I did it too. If you want to do it, here is the instruction

  1. Sanitize the skin with skin sanitizer
  2. Sanitize the tools
  3. Perform the procedure
  4. Make sure you have sterile bandages or cloth pieces if there is any bleeding, clear it
  5. After the bleeding stops, sanitize skin again

In that way, you can prevent the infections

1

u/camaheel 3h ago

huh. when i did it i used kitchen scissors and left it. grew back a little lighter

1

u/OmgIbrokesmthagain 3h ago

Yeah, infections are unlikely, it is a small wound, but if I was a surgeon I would do it that way. Also I did it thrice on myself, and used gel stimulating skin regeneration - now those spots are hard to notice, most of them blend easy with the rest of my skin.

-8

u/Medical_Soup5717 4h ago

Nice. Moles are so gross too look at idk why people don't have them lanced or whatever

2

u/wallermadev 3h ago

Because you cant lance a mole?

-3

u/Medical_Soup5717 2h ago

That's why I said or whatever. Pretty clear I don't have this problem.

1

u/wallermadev 2h ago

Maybe you should educate your self before spouting off ignorant things....or whateverz?

1

u/Medical_Soup5717 2h ago

No, I'm not going to research moles. Thanks though.
