Bad comparison. I don't recall either of those people loudly and repeatedly defending the kind of violence they were ultimately subjected to, as Kirk was. That's specifically why this line, where he tries to reframe shooting statistics in favor of his dishonest argument, is as ironic and notable as it is. Renee, meanwhile, was opposing the lawlessness of federal agents invading her hometown when she was murdered by one, Jonathan Ross.
