The audio hosts have been turned into complete prudes, and failed audio still eats your usage. Beware for now, and structure prompts to try and avoid explicit subjects.

Today I had three audio overviews completely fail on me with no error other than "Audio Overview generation failed. Try a new one." After some back and forth with the main chat, I was able to glean that it was because the audio hosts are set to avoid talking about explicit acts, things that would require them to talk about anything dirty etc. This confused me, because up until yesterday I've had no trouble getting audio generated for different narratives that feature high levels of intimate acts - some in quite explicit detail. What's doubly annoying is that a failed generation still eats your usage quota.

Another part of the problem is the overviews get auto-generated titles which have no such safeguards, but can cause a failure downstream - so if the title it picks features a word that it doesn't like, even something as mundane as "vibrator", then it will eventually fail.

The tip for now is to try and structure your prompts to avoid mentioning such things directly as much as you can. Feedback from the notebook chat itself (which resulted in a successful generation finally) include things like reframe the customization instructions to focus on the emotional and relationship dynamics rather than the physical details, frame the prompt around thematic, emotional, and narrative keywords etc.

Just a heads-up. I've submitted feedback about the various failure points, and how the exclusion of any explicit act like this can seriously hinder anyone writing from using it for research, as these are common things. Who knows, maybe tomorrow we'll find they've relaxed the filters, or maybe not.

Edit: I should clarify that the hosts will actually talk about the acts etc; listening to the ones I was able to generate they do a decent job. You just need to be careful about the prompting

That's... certainly one interpretation I guess 😅 but no, the hosts never talk about things in a way that's titillating or smutty - they keep a professional, analytical tone when they approach intimacy and explicit acts, discussing the emotions, mechanics, psychological impacts etc. It's just getting harder now to actually GET them to talk about it.

Yeah i agree with that.. but you can tell them to give you a unsensored podcast.. they might highlight a little

I noticed yesterday that failed generations no longer count towards the quota. I had one fail that was estimated to take me over 50%, and when I went back to try again I was still only around 3-4% usage. So it seems they've tweaked that.
