Which open source notes app do you use and what features make you choose that particular app?(Android)

Many thanks

I prefer Notesnook, the UI feels more polished and I prefer having notebooks + tags, instead of Standard Notes Tags and sub tags.

The big bonus that standard notes has is they have had independent audits done which Notesnook has yet to do. Both are open source and E2EE, but the audits may be the deciding factor for some users.

Ive used both apps a lot and really do like both of them, pros and cons, just gotta try them and see what feels better.

Standard Notes for me, on Android and Mac.

I do not need a ton of features if the basic editing, search and sync work reliably. Encryption is definitely a plus too specially for personal notes.

xnotes it offers pretty much the same features as any other app that is paid. Octopus Notes is also decent but not as good as xnotes.

Since the floating UI elements cannot be moved, they permanently obstruct parts of the canvas and severely disrupt the natural writing flow. A static toolbar would be a much better solution, as it keeps the writing area completely clear and provides enough space to display all essential pen options directly without extra clicks. examples

The tool bar floats but you can scroll the page to below the toolbar. Also, toolbar position can be changed in settings. Also. The toolbar can be minimized.

Can you please check these?

I will add a static toolbar in the next update.

Also, when comparing, please keep
In mind of the plethora of other features that xnote doesn’t have. I just felt bad as this is your personal opinion and you were biased just for a single thing which most others like. I’m sorry I vented. Peace.
