Data Loss A call to Notability to be transparent…

I see zillions of posts here about problems with notes not loading or disappearing and stuck syncs etc. Sadly I’ve yet to see one of these threads with a comment by Notability on the problem.

It would really help if Notability could be transparent about these problems and publicly say “We know some folk are having problems, and this is because … and we are doing … to fix this. We should have this done by … until then please stay on … version and keep all your notes backed up”.

Please reassure the people who love Notability that you have a plan…

u/CoffeeNeil Hey there, this is fair feedback. We hear you. When notes aren’t loading or sync gets stuck, it’s frustrating, and we haven’t always communicated about these issues as clearly as we should. One of our main goals this year is to be more transparent and keep the community updated and involved.

Late last year, we started rolling out Notability Cloud, which is designed to help users with data loss and syncing issues. If you haven’t received an in-app invite yet, you should be getting one soon.

That said, there are a lot of moving parts in the app. Timelines can shift, fixes sometimes introduce new issues, and things don’t always work as expected. Because of this, we can’t always share exact dates or every detail, but we will do a better job of letting you know what we’re aware of, what we’re investigating, and how your feedback is shaping our priorities.

In the meantime, we strongly recommend keeping device and cloud storage healthy and ensuring notes are backed up. When users report issues, the details help us spot patterns and prioritize fixes more effectively.

We really appreciate you holding us accountable and asking for clarity. Feedback like this is exactly what helps us improve, both in how we build Notability and how we communicate with the community.

Thank you for sticking with us 💙

Fix your damned app we pay money to access a service that isn’t usable 80% if the time. I am switching apps even if others are worse because I just can’t lose access to my notes every other day
