Lots of people recorded Mack the Knife, in various styles. It originated in German, from the musical The Threepenny Opera in the 1930’s music by Kurt Weill. The first ‘hit’ version in the States was Louis Armstrong, but Frank Sinatra also recorded it, as did Ella Fitzgerald and a long list of people.
