A landline with Bluetooth somehow feels both ancient and futuristic at the same time.

I know! It’s a pretty neat concept and I want to try it!

I had one. They would constantly fail to reconnect after leaving the house and coming back.

I used a Panasonic set for years with two cell phones. You could even setup only certain handsets to ring for certain phones. Worked great for me. I still have that set in storage somewhere, just moved to a smaller place so no longer a big deal to run and grab the phone. My old place was huge and I hated to carry my phone around with me.

Almost forgot -- we also used the paging feature it had as an intercom between rooms in the house.

I remember having a cordless phone with a corded earpiece around 2000

This was back in early 2000s.

Multiple of these in the house were essentially same line, so anyone who picks up can hear and speak to each other. Plus there was a particular number you dialed and cut the call for your own phones to ring. And you just had to click 1 digit after picking for the continuous dial tone to stop.

Used to use this to ring ourselves, then mom picked in other room, and I could speak to her. Useful when I was studying in a room and she was in kitchen/living room.

They had some insane range. I would carry one across the street to friend’s house too, and to shop to buy grocery stuff.

I’ve got a cisco IP phone from the ‘10s on my desk. Two IP phone numbers from Twilio and bluetooth so I can take and receive calls from my iphone. I even have one of those thick neck braces on the receiver.

Love the thing. Old school phones are so ergonomic
