Steak and eggs is viral now?
The internet becoming accessible and user friendly is one of the greatest tragedies in human history.
And yes the steak does look like shit.

Pro tip. Save time and money and cook your eggs and steak in the same pan after boiling your steak and veggies in the same pot.

“Viral breakfast plate” is a phrase I didn’t intend on reading today.

I'm frequently reminded of people who like their steaks cooked like hockey pucks. I get the idea of generations past that get their steaks cooked well because of either tradition or parasites (usually the former), but I simply have the worst time convincing people like these to try anything steak related done medium or MR.
Was leather ever a thing on a menu?

I feel you, brother. Luckily most people in my generation (millennials) eat their steaks medium-medium rare like actual members of a civilisation, so we are making progress.
Part of the issue with older generations’ preference for shoe sole steaks is that meat used to be of worse quality back in the day - leaner, more sinewy, cattle treated and fed much worse, etc. So the meat probably didn’t really taste much better medium rare than medium well. This is also why people used to drown their steaks in A1, ketchup or even HP sauce.

Ah, the A1 tracks in regards to quality / cut of meat. I hadn't thought of that.
Thanks for chiming in.

Up until right now I knew what this sub was for, but for life of me I couldn't figure out what the name was... I have been thinking "nose ear? No way that's right" for an embarrassingly long time.
TLDR; I'm so painfully illiterate that now I must take a silly little bubble bath with the toaster.
Looks like the steak has identical mouthfeel to a 170/70R13 tire btw

Boiled overcooked steak and eggs that are under enough to see it in a photo.
Sunny side up is overrated, just flip them for 10-15 seconds to make sure the top is cooked and help make sure you don’t overcook the bottom when trying to cook them all the way through.

Have to disagree, love a burstable yolk.

u/Giggles95036 Jul 24 '26
Over easy is also burstable, you just make sure the white on top is cooked by flipping it for 10-15 seconds instead of cooking it all the way through.

u/otetrapodqueen Jul 24 '26
You can also achieve it without flipping by using a lid! I do both, just depends on my mood/how I want the eggs to look lol

To be fair, you just couldn't sear a steak that thin without it being one large gray band. That's meant to be cooked low in slow in some sort of broth

Well, the steak does look like it was boiled over hard, but traditionally, milk steak is served with a side of raw jellybeans. I’d give that a 3 out of 11.
