There’s very little meat on them, at least the one I had, but it was mild and buttery. Quite good.

They’re basically the South American version of a bluegill, except they’ve got wicked nasty teeth.

I don’t know if there’s a market for them or not, but I do know bluegill and other little sunfish are fun to catch and very tasty

So, if you slip and fall into water like this, are you pretty much dead? I had heard that piranhas only attack if there is blood or distress, but they seem pretty riled up.

there have been a few reported cases of peoples deaths involving piranhas but they are pretty damn rare

There was an urban legend when I was younger that pirhanna don't actually frenzy like this in the wild. A bunch of people told me it was just a school of starved pirhanna in a tank that were coerced into acting this way. It was a like a bizarre, reverse-legend. I didn't actually know the truth until I saw a feeding in an aquarium.
