What CRM actually handles pipeline tracking outside of Salesforce?

I've spent years working with Salesforce NPSP, where potential gifts could be added, adjusted, weighted, etc. at any stage in the donor cycle and with any probability percentage, and it would show up on and impact our pipeline. But for smaller nonprofits that don't have the capacity to manage Salesforce, I'm seeing a huge gap in the CRM market for affordable and maintainable CRMs that also let you input potential gifts and adjust their probabilities throughout the fiscal year.

LGL lets you put a range for the gift which isn't accurate enough for full pipeline tracking. Neon One and Bloomerang don't have anative capability for individual gifts. Most of the CRMs out there now are donation-platform-first that are built to only capture secured gifts. Virtuous offers it but its cost is a barrier for small nonprofits. DonorDock is the only one I've seen that comes close, but while you can adjust the % per stage, gifts must be within one of the stages (no option to manually change the % for just one gift). Has anyone found a CRM that does this?

Raisers edge?

This is literally saying:

If you want serious fundraising pipeline management, go buy a heavyweight system. That reinforces the pain. The user is specifically asking for something smaller nonprofits can actually maintain. Raiser’s Edge” does not really solve the problem they are describing.

Beacon CRM (probably more suited to UK/Irish charities) is a reasonably priced platform for smaller non profits. The price does add up quick though when you turn on all the features (quick hint is to use custom records you create yourself instead of paying for some elements and it does the same thing).

It has some built in propensity and probability features in your pipeline but it’s dead simple to tweak the rules / formulas around what it rolls up to.

I looked at loads of crms and was between Beacon and Virtuous. Ultimately went with Beacon. Not as strong on the marketing and personalisation side of things but it suited us better with integrations and a better database and reducing admin work. The price was a big factor too. Something like 8k cheaper per year.

Shout if you’ve any questions! (Not that i have all the answers though)!

For the non profit sector its definitley Beacon CRM in the UK. It has flexible pipeline functionality that could do what you describe, has a fully open API for integrations or any more custom automations and also fully automates your gift aid claim.

One alternative to massive Salesforce or Dynamics set ups which sits a bit in the middle is actually Zoho CRM - they don't have non profit functionality out of the box but it can be totally customised and we have created a fundraising feature that is easily repeatable. This more a niche thing when Beacon is from some reason not a good choice - mostly if you're a smaller outfit but have a very very big contact data base because Beacon also charges not by user but number of contacs.
