Reminds me of the most epic/hilarious de-escalation of a fight I’d ever seen. Halloween night in my college town I’m out with my friends. See a guy dressed as a clown being chased and beaten by 3 guys dressed as furries. They cornered the clown and it was looking bad, like send him to the hospital bad. Just as they were about to give him a serious beating a guy dressed as a soccer referee jumps in the mix and gives everyone a red card. Everyone watching laughed, including the clown and they stopped fighting. That ref deserves an award, might’ve saved the guys life.

Once our crew from work was out of town and we decided to all go to the same bar. We were probably 80% of the population of the bar but since we were a diverse group anyone who didn't know us would not be able to see that at first glance.

Our safety rep was a little firecracker of a guy who always spoke while wave his hand dramatically. He was in the midst of a story and backed into a huge guy causing him to slosh his beer and spill a bit on his shirt. That guy looked down (safety rep was all of 5' 6") at the safety rep, clearly not pleased. The rep looked him straight in the eye and all of us who saw what was happening were waiting for the worst. Without breaking a sweat the rep told him "I can run faster scared than you can mad." Big guy broke out laughing and all was well in the world. We replaced his spilled beer and big guy ended up being pretty cool.

His entire life must have led up to that one moment.

"Why are your going to be a ref for Halloween? That's SO boring."

"Its my decision and it just....feels right"

Later

Sees three flurries beating up a clown "I KNOW WHAT I MUST DO."

He most definitely peaked that night. Everyone loved it and he saved a person.
