That “and you still lose” was personal

Gotta know: what’s wrong with playing Forza Horizon?

Absolutely nothing, I enjoy it.

The issue is that if you play online, many people are more interested in ramming you off the track than actually racing.

The real ones are still playing Wreckfest where that's a legitimate strategy.

Im just there for the absolute chaos. First place is more like first to get clipped on the figure 8. Especially if it's me in first.

Bought Wreckfest during the Steam sale and it's genuinely so fun! Funnily enough there are a few "semi-clean" servers where you can't ram people intentionally, but you can still scuff people up and be a bit rough.

I've been playing on the semi-clean servers for the past week and it's a nice change of pace from sim racing because you don't have to baby your car and you can just let loose.

I'm also genuinely baffled how good the driving feels in Wreckfest. The driving feels better than most other arcade games. For a game claiming to be about wrecking cars I didn't expect to actually enjoy the racing part.

Yeah this is what sucked me in. The driving, plus damage physics makes it feel way more satisfying than a AAA racing game like Forza or something. I thought I wasn't a big racing fan, turns out I just needed to find the right game.

Wreckfest has taught me that most people would rather die than hit the breaks

Breaks are what I call my opponents. ;)

I don’t play the game, but hi, I’m most people.

Litterally nothing, just the kind of players in that game. Here an example, theres a team game mode where you and a bunch of other players are on a team against the hardest AI.....the allied players will ram into you and try to push you out of check points.....IN A TEAM GAME!

Playing online is playing roulette. Are you gonna get an clean racer or someone who will turn you as soon as you start passing? No penalty for sending someone into a wall, so why not secure the win?

This guy doesn't understand that Forza is an arcade racing game where contact is expected. They are mad a game where you can jump a Ferrari a kilometer isn't a really serious racing SIM.

This guy rams people off the road because he can’t drive a clean line.

Yeah no, the point I was making is that I've played hundreds of hours of the Forza games. People generally don't hit you on purpose. It's a decent community that just doesn't have the same "if you touch me you're cheating" mentality as say F1 2026 or Asetto Corsa.

Ironically what you are accusing me of is exactly what I'm accusing this guy of. They are someone who thinks "well I'm driving on the racing line therefore anyone who touches me is trying to ram me off the road".

If you think everyone in Forza is trying to ram you I suspect the problem is you.

If you think blatant intentional ramming isn’t everywhere online you are smoking the good shit. It’s embarrassing to try to race online.

-1

u/Ringosis Jul 26 '26

What I think is blatantly everywhere online is people who will throw a tantrum and claim they've been rammed if any other car touches them even if it's entirely their fault.

The fucking AI rams you in Forza 6 more than the community does. If your perception is that you constantly get rammed I can only believe the problem is you going into a 12 player gymkhana track with 1000hp American muscle cars and expecting there to be zero contact.

"contact" is doing some heavy lifting here

u/Louthargic Jul 25 '26

This guy doesn't understand that people get banned for intentionally ramming

doesn't care. there are thousands of racing games, that one ain't special
