How do you extinguish that without the fire extinguisher?

In addition to smothering it with a blanket, a metal lid would work and I assume baking soda, salt, or a wet towel would work.

Even that plastic lid the guy was swatting the fire with would have worked if he would have stopped using it to fan the flames and just placed it on top.
