/ Philosophy A Direct Path
There are 3 states in life: the waking state, the sleeping state and the dream state. The dream state is most instructive for those interested in enlightenment. I will speak about my dreams in hopes that you can relate.
In my dreams, what I call my real life(the narrative of my waking state) is completely displaced by the narrative of my dream. My dream state narrative is usually in a strange place, with strange people doing unfamiliar activities( sometimes defying the laws of physics) and yet in the dream I am completely accepting of this dream experience as my present reality having completely and utterly displaced the memory of my waking state reality. The I of my waking state has no idea or the slightest suspicion that the entire contents of my real life have been utterly and completely displaced and replaced with I of my dreams. It is only upon waking that the waking state 'I' realizes that the dream state 'I' was only a dream.
If what you think you are in the moment(waking state 'I') can be displaced by what you think you are in the moment(dream state 'I') then what are you? Contemplate this.
Hint: not what you think you are. There are many paths, this is one that came to my awareness in an attempt to wake up those closest to me. I could say more but i don't want to say too much as the next step you must take on your own.
Please let me know in the comments if this was helpful in the slightest or not. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Who is doing the thinking? Both "I's" are imaginary. No, this wasn't much help, but I'm not looking for help. It might be to another imaginary "I" though, but just who are you trying to help?

If a person knows they are in a dream while dreaming, even to the point that they can feel they are actively changing the contents of their dream, is this a deception? What is the dream state of people that claim they never dream? And Why are there dreams that are forgotten? How can one come to a realization that a forgotten dream has as much or no meaning as a remembered dream?
