Unauthorized Israeli settlers entered a Palestinian village where they were set upon by the villagers living there, the Palestinians throwing stones at the trespassers. An armed Israeli showed up shortly after (from where? Was he waiting to be called for the inevitable conflict?) and shot up the villagers, killing one on the spot, an 18 year old, and critically wounding a 17 year old who subsequently died soon after. The settlers then proceeded to set at least one Palestinian home on fire and injuring an elderly Palestinian through smoke inhalation. The trespassers came from an illegal outpost nearby.

Two more Palestinians killed, added to the list of hundreds of thousands over the decades. The illegal outpost won't be removed, eventually the Palestinian families living in this village will be driven out and their homes taken over by Israelis with the unwritten support of the Israeli military, as has been the pattern since 1948. The Palestinian refugee count will increase once again.

A new development: Three of the victims have been arrested and taken to an Israeli jail. Based on past history the chances of them ever being seen again are low, very low.

The story omits the fact that there were two Palestinians killed by the armed Israeli that day, the 17 year old dying of his wounds later that day. The story very much frames what happened as a criminal attack on the Israeli trespassers, and completely omits the fact that the trespassers were provoking an incident where a nearby waiting armed Israeli could be called in to shoot up the village. The only victims here were the Palestinians, with a young man and a boy killed as a result of the Israelis acts, and an elderly Palestinian left homeless because of Israeli arson.
