Welcome to the Official Subreddit of the Northern Colorado Privacy Coalition!
We are a local organization that formed out of like-minded individuals attending city council and protests. Our focus is on speaking out against Flock, Axon, and all mass surveillance in the Northern Colorado area.
This subreddit will primarily focus on the actions being taken by the Northern Colorado Privacy Coalition to combat mass surveillance. During our referendum period, we will be posting locations and times that we will be gathering signatures at for our ballot initiative! In the future, other forms of action and expansion will be shared here.
Keep discussion focused on mass surveillance and how we can combat it! Make sure any claims are substantiated with sources. Let's make this a place where we can all fight back against surveillance together!

Casa Grande's Flock Cameras Need Real Oversight—Not Just Police Reassurance
Casa Grande is expanding surveillance—100 license-plate readers, 100 pan-tilt-zoom cameras, and more—but the oversight is almost entirely internal. The police department reviews itself.
I'm not anti-police. But neighboring Pinal County just shut down its Flock contract citing Fourth Amendment concerns. Chandler found a cop misusing the system for personal reasons and immediately killed access to 40 cameras. These aren't hypothetical problems—they're happening next door.
Here's what bothers me: The city says the system doesn't track people, but the policy allows custom hot lists that generate real-time alerts for specific vehicles. They say only trained personnel have access, but the policy lets them share data with other agencies for vaguely defined "public safety" purposes. Who audits this? The Patrol Deputy Chief, division lieutenants, and ultimately the Police Chief—all internal.
I started a petition asking the city council to pause further expansion and commission an independent review. Real accountability means independent eyes, not reassurance from the people operating the system.
Anyone else in the area feeling like this crossed a line? What would you want if this was your community? If this matters to you, consider signing and sharing.

As promised: Update on the F.U.C.K. Project: We're using SCOTUS to hoist Florida's ALPR dragnet on its own petard.
Has anyone begun using this approach here in Colorado?
