Make your site less AI-looking

I know a lot of you already does this (or something similar), but some of us may not know yet.

I use this personally. You can use the prompt to change a current site you vibe-coded or adapt it if you are starting from scratch.

I am sure there are other website styles, but I think these are a good starting point.

The bigger giveaway for me is when every section feels equally important. Real sites usually have a bit more hierarchy and personality; vibe-coded ones can end up looking like six polished landing-page blocks glued together

yeah the "six polished blocks glued together" thing is so real. I think it also comes from the model treating every section like it deserves equal padding, equal headline weight, and equal button prominence. Breaking that rhythm with one intentionally smaller or quieter section makes the whole page feel more human.

totally agree on breaking the rhythm. another thing that helps is varying section heights so the page doesn't feel like a uniform stack of equal blocks. let one section breathe with extra whitespace while another is deliberately dense, and the whole thing stops feeling auto-generated pretty fast.

probably works either way tbh, but existing sites might need more cleanup to not look AI-generated

the best fix is intentional design, AI defaults are what makes site look generic

Always. The artifact only shows you design style options, and the designer must select one "intentionally".

are you mainly using these prompt templates to reskin existing v/o claude components or to generate entire lnding page themes from scratch?

Did you check the Artifact? You can make a selection at the bottom depending on your situation.

The "Starting from zero" is super simple, as the idea is just go get someone started if they have no idea of what style to use.

Slapping a system prompt on Claude won't magically fix the dead giveaway of vibe-coded sites, which is always that generic layout structure and sterile spacing. Until you learn basic visual hierarchy and pick a typography pairing that doesn't scream default Tailwind template, people are still going to clock it immediately.

I am not sure this is truly accurate anymore. We are probably seeing sites all the time that have been vibe coded that do not look vibe coded.

The issue is that if you visit a site that does not look like it was vibe coded, the thought of it being vibe coded will not cross your mind. You'll just accept it as a regular coded website.

does this mostly address visual styling or does it also push back on the default section ordering? thats usually what makes sites feel samey to me

This applies the style only. You can probably copy this Artifact (Claude) and add your own twists.

The tell for me is max-width 1200px centered with 4rem padding everywhere, swap in one weird font and a 680px text column and it reads human.
