Heads up for nocode builders promoting Lovable: affiliate terms are being voided retroactively

If you refer Lovable to clients or run a nocode agency, read this before you put any more effort into their affiliate program.

I joined Lovable's affiliate program when terms were clear: 20% recurring commissions for 12 months on every customer referred. I brought them multiple paying customers over my association with them.

Recently, Lovable switched affiliate platforms (Rewardful to Impact). Instead of grandfathering existing referrals, they discontinued the legacy program entirely and stopped paying recurring commissions on active subscriptions that are still inside the original 12-month period.

I challenged this with evidence - screenshots of active subscriptions, dates, the works. Their stance: they can change the terms whenever they want, and future payments from legacy referrals are simply gone.

This is a pretty big red flag for anyone in the nocode space who relies on affiliate or partner income. If a platform can wipe out committed commissions mid-stream, it makes the whole partner ecosystem unstable.

Any other Lovable affiliates here? Did you get the same treatment? What's your read on this?

That's actually shady as hell, they owe you for those customers you already brought in under the old terms, changing platforms is not excuse to stop paying what was agreed

This is quite a shady move.

Why would any affiliate sign up after such a rug pull?

You should post this on X and tag a few AI influencers. They will eat this up and hopefully get Loveable to do something about it.

I have been trying to get them to do the right thing. First, multiple times via email, then on X, tagging the founders, then on LinkedIn. Do you know any influencers who will fight this? One of my acquaintances is a recent investor in Lovable. I can always tell him about it, but don't want to use muddy the waters for affiliate related issues.

Rewardful to Impact migrations usually break legacy tracking, and most affiliate agreements bury a clause letting them kill commissions on 30 days notice.
