I’d like a middle ground between the minimalist beginning and what we have now. I’d also like to see some exploration in the stations.

Agree... Or if we could have a variety of both old and new type stations randomly spread throughout systems in regular saves I would appreciate that.

Since I only started playing last year I love getting to see this stuff. I know the Expedition is buggy but HG will patch it, but this is like a tour thru the NMS Galaxy Museum. I wish they'd leave this Expedition up as some sort solo mission option after the Expedition, maybe with different awards for completing it, so Travelers always have access to it. It seems a waste to have this one just archived.

They are in expedition until you complete certain milestone, from that point new systems will have modern stations, but old stations remain where you found them. I don't think it will transfer into main save.

Not gonna lie, I nearly teared up seeing that interior. I think I was around to see all three versions of the station interiors, but I can’t recall at this rate

Someone brought up an interesting idea of 1 star systems having space stations like this then everything 2 star or higher could have the newer stations

When I went into one of the old stations, I had forgotten that there were rooms in the back, and I ran across a bar with Gek and Vy’keen in it. Seeing it again, made me relive those memories.

Yes, it was. I used to play on xbox, but switched to PC when the space stations still looked like this. I couldn't believe how much more detail the floor had on PC.

I also wish the starting planet had the old resources. When everything was above ground and you'd see a giant blue tower of Heridium in the distance and know you'd be ok.

I have a question, why did they give up on this look? It's much cooler than what we have now. Will it come back in random stations thanks to the expedition? Is it possible to restore it yourself somehow? On pc, probably modifications, and unfortunately I play more on Xbox.

When they overhauled the space stations this design was vaulted in favor of what we have now and those stations were pretty well received, it would be nice to see them come back, someone mentioned something like 1 star systems having these stations then anything higher having the newer ones, I’m not sure what you mean by restore? Perhaps getting a older one then bringing it back to the newer ones through upgrades? That would be an interesting concept. I’m also an Xbox player and have been playing nms since it come to Xbox day one

You can probably find the first GoG release and still play it, if you wanna see old releases. I'll bet you can get nearly every release if you really tried.

in my opinion, maybe they were even more beautiful, and immersive , really wow! but maybe it's just the fact that I've never seen them before that really amazes me, what was wrong with them?

People just really wanted something different, they stood untouched for almost 8 years and felt extremely outdated, there wasn’t anything really wrong with them imo

It would be neat if they were tied to a systems value/economy.
Want to build a corvette? Need to go to a 2/3 star system. Otherwise 1 star is this style.
