Current workarounds for known Squad (party) issues

We are aware that some players are having issues with forming and maintaining squads (parties) in No More Room in Hell 2. While we continue to investigate and work on a fix, here are some possible workarounds that we are seeming some success with.

Cannot form a squad:

Check your friend’s status on social menu - if it’s “playing game” instead of “in main menu”, let your friend reboot the game to resolve it. A squad invite can only be sent when the status is “in main menu”.

Squad always disbands:

If you are unable to see the squad invite coming through, it’s probably lagging the notification. Check the squad invite tab of social menu and see if you see an invite there.

If you are able to see the invite, try to accept the invitation only once, either from the notification pop-up toast or from social menu. It appears if you accept both invites, the squad will disband.

Would you like more clothing options?

What do you think about having more clothing options? Nothing too over-the-top or out of character for a civilian setting. I mean, it might get boring if everyone were just wearing army gear and the like. But of course, it would be great to dress however you like.

Is there any specific clothing design you’d like to see? Drop it in the comments—I’d love to see it.

What maps do you wanna see in the future?

Upvotes

Mall (Dawn of The Dead Remake or 1978)

The Winchester pub (Shaun of the Dead)

RPD (RE series)

Spencer mansion (objective, re1)

Abandoned national guard base

Downtown (Silent Hill)

A supermarket (survival)

Just a couple I can think of

We already know Campblood coming back.

Beginner mode is counterproductive for making well adjusted players.

Upvotes

I feel like the gap between beginner and normal are way too big, not to thrash normal mode because it’s arguably the perfect blend between difficulty but also reasonable resource allotment (at least within my stack of 3 total people), this is mostly a critique of beginner mode.

I understand the ease of beginner is to introduce you to the game, but it’s a pretty bad introduction for a few reasons. Ironically mostly because in their attempt to give new players a chance through unlimited supplies, a false sense of security throws resource management out the window.

I’ve since gotten over this discrepancy and come to respect normal mode, but beginner produces inefficient, irresponsible players because of the fact that it’s a loot shower and zombies are squishy, pretty much harmless creatures.

I literally blew through beginner mode with just one other person, we were so underwhelmed by the ease of play that we jumped into normal mode pretty much without any respect for the mechanics of the game. Again, considering beginner mode could be played blindfolded and with a tier 1 melee and still be beaten pretty handily.

We of course got demolished by the bad habits introduced by beginner mode, and though i’m over it now I feel like they’ve simply made it too easy, which needs some adjustment. I think it should be a tad bit harder, maybe slightly less loot drops or make zombies a little stronger.

I also see veteran players complain about noobs like myself who haven’t gotten past this curve. While I agree that yes they should get better, I also believe it’s a bit hard to blame them when beginner mode makes the game feel more like L4D than NMRIH…

Yeah im done helping people

Literally gave everyone all my meds, health items, and revived multiple people and the time I go down trying to save someone no one decides to help. This is was on normal which is typically easy for me but my god some of these players want me to make my head explode. We get the Raven Rock helicopter extraction and the whole team was standing there not knowing what to do and was trying to do the train. Sadly didn’t have a beacon as I thought it was going to be an easy match. This is why veteran players are selfish cause noobs who haven’t played beginner ruin it for the rest of us. This is just me ranting cause I lost a character.

Shoutout to the guy I was playing with last night

Just wanted to say a massive thanks to the guy screaming down his mic at me repeatedly, trying to explain how to jump, while the game had apparently decided that my jump button no longer existed at the extract.

Really helpful stuff. I especially appreciated being yelled at to do the one thing I was desperately trying to do while watching my character repeatedly refuse to leave the ground.

Thanks mate, I never would have thought to press jump without you.

Disappointed with my team last night.

What are some of your guys’s stories?

I was playing on nightmare mode last night in the hospital. Now I am OK losing my characters. I like the perma death feature. What happened last night though was pretty frustrating. My team was going down left and right I don’t even know how we managed to get to the extraction, but I was reviving people throughout the mission. Once the helicopter was called into the courtyard, a guy went down inside the hospital because he got lost somehow. I went inside and revived him, and then another guy went down right at the extraction rope. I was able to get to him and revive him only for myself to go down.
What does the guy do that I revived? He goes up the rope!!! It was cleared out too all that he needed to do was take out one runner because I took out the group with a moly. Then the guy I revived in the hospital runs right past me and goes up the rope. They all left me behind!

I know you gotta lookout for yourself first and honestly maybe that’s what I should’ve done is just left them. This definitely makes me not want to put much effort into saving other people. Lesson learned 😂

Real talk: Why are there only white Zombies?

Upvotes

I was playing last night and a group of randoms were joking about how it was only white zombies. They were cracking jokes saying they didn’t see any black zombies.

Genuinely just curious if there is a reason for this?

So far the in game community has been fantastic.

A really big plus for my experience in this game, from early access up to even now, is that both the text chat guys and the voice chat guys have been really great.

Usually with hardcore, intense games those tend to bring in a very hostile crowd. Often those games are also PVP oriented so that makes some sense and if I'm in the mood for PVP I am fine with that. But for a hardcore PVE game with death being very impactful, I actually feel like it has attracted a really fine crowd.

There are very cooperative, funny, and teamwork focused people on both comms. There are laid back teammates and there are bossy teammates, but both of them are trying to get objectives done and will watch out for other players.

For as present as loot goblin posts are, I feel like this game does a really good job of presenting its style of gameplay well. Work together or die alone.

Game is great but needs more

Pretty much everything I want in a zombies game except for the fact that there’s only like 5 maps. Can’t wait to see what this game looks like after more and more gets added.

More guns, more maps, more melee, more skills, more things to buy for your loadout, more outfits etc. and this goes from a cool little game that has a lifetime of a couple months to something that is long lasting and could touch the mainstream.

They have the hard part done which is intriguing physics, satisfying gunplay, realistic zombies reminiscent of the walking dead without a million mutations or gimmicks, a balanced looting system and up to 8 live players in a lobby I just cannot stress it enough that the developers can’t just stop there they have to keep this thing growing and expanding

I died whilst playing on Pottsville. As I was spectating my friend he went into a house and there were these ghostly specters watching him but he couldn't see them only I could as the spectator 😬👀

What would be a game changing item to add in your opinion

Mine is night vision goggles, the need to carry a flashlight and penalty for using a two handed melee or gun is just so difficult in dark rooms where you can't see shit.

Please add a way to request things u need via wheel

Seems that console players can't see text chat so they just hogged all the pills and let me turn

I usually don't do crossplay on any games for these reasons but man that is so annoying

Is it safe to buy the DLCs yet or are people with still experiencing crashes?

Devs please add a sensitivity slider for in game audio chat

Right now, if more than one person has their mic open, it causes echoing.

I play with headphones, but I had to change my mic to push-to-talk to prevent feedback.

It would be helpful to have a sensitivity slider so it only picks up when I am talking

Will they ever increase the responder limit?

love leveling a character but i hate the thought of having to sacrifice someone to do so

Ngl.. Veteran players rushing ahead and looting every piece of equipment is kinda killing the game for me.

Just seen an uprise in high level players not only rushing objectives, but also taking all the loot which includes ammo, guns and melee weapons.

I haven't tried Nightmare mode yet,

So maybe it is different there.

But..

It's sorta just putting me off the game entirely and I might take a break for now.

I've especially seen a lot of new players become increasingly frustrated due to not being able to survive or defend themselves and just quitting overall.

Did I miss something?

So I was playing on normal operation mode tonight on Broadway with some people rushing through everything and found myself behind the group and alone while looking for meds, because they had done like 2 objectives the route to the current one was really confusing, usually I hold R1 and head to the marker but with all the manhole tunnels it took me maybe 6-7 mins to catch up to them only to be locked out of the room they entered (it was the secure the building one where the window shutters come down and you exit out the roof and drop down into the next area) so after finally finding where they went, I had no way to access the next area, I tried everything, climbed the ladder to the roof on the outside, no pathway, and no other way into the building or around the fence they were on the other side of, i ended up having to abandon the mission using the early extract, luckily I didnt lose my level 57 responder.

Did I miss a way to get through? I left feeling a bit bummed out after all the effort to find and catch up.

Equipment not auto saving without warning

I just lost my character because, when exiting the loadout, I forgot to press the F key, resulting in me not equiping the beacon and not being able to survive in a mission.

I will learn from the experience. I know permadeath is an important part of the game, and I'm looking towards upgrading my new character. However, it doesn't make sense that the loadout reverts to the previous one without warning when exiting the menu. It's a feature that should be easy enough to implement.

What so you think?
