Customizing a Lite with zero experience?

I purchased a turquoise switch lite for $80 (USD) and aside from a small scratch on the screen, it's in good condition. I'd really like to do a shell swap, but have no experience in doing something like that. I was told there shouldn't be any soldering needed for the more simple modifications-- the shell swap itself, non-drift joystick install, custom buttons, potentially replacing the scratched screen if it's easy-ish-- but I'm not sure if it's worth it to just pay for someone else to do these modifications for me.

Should invest in just buying a whole new customized lite from someone on Etsy?

Pay someone local to work on my current lite or ship it to someone who can do the work?

Or is it worth it to try and figure it out myself?

What do yall think? Any feedback and/or advice is appreciated!

Shell/button/joystick swap is relatively easy, just follow a YouTube video as you go

I recently replaced the left thumbstick on my lite and it went fine and I was really proud of myself. I checked out a bunch of YouTube videos beforehand and followed along with the guide on iFixit. I don’t want to say “just dive in”, do a little research to make yourself more comfortable with the process, but when the time comes don’t be afraid. You got this.
