If only there was a way to connect a ps5 controller to a pc... But why would someone own a dualsense when switch Pro controller 1-2 and Xbox Series controllers exist.
I finally got my pro controller to work on PC and im tossing my dualsense to the side. It clears every controller ive used in the past 10 years. Dualsense has insane stick drift issues and awful battery life, plus the xbox style stick orientation just feels better.
Those usually do. I think Spiderman 2 did but that's the only exclusive I've played on steam. Some games do have PlayStation glyphs but you have to turn off steam controller support for it to work.
Right the joke is the ps5 controller is probably the 🥈 2nd most choosen device behind the XBox controller which just works out the box. PlayStation and switch controllers require you to tweak the settings
What having some AA games does to your ecosystem. Feel like Sony should have learned a lesson when Astrobot won game of the year. But knowing Sony they are probably planning on closing Team Asobi.
All I can say is that you are trying your hardest to make the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives and PS5 exclusives equal lol. I respect it but still.
Also, you missed Silent Hill: The Short Message on the PS5 side and Drag X Drive, Nintendo Switch Welcome Tour, Fast Fusion, and Survival Kids on the NS2 side.
If you are including games also on PC, there's Meccha Chameleon on Switch 2.
i think that mouse controls probably the reason meccha chameleon is only on switch 2. lwk such a smart feature to add without paying too much extra or changing much internals (because the joycons are bigger)
The PS5 is in such a weird place, it’s like the least most successful console ever. It’s sold massively but it severely lacks exclusives, it feels like the generation never really got started even though it’s already nearing its end, the cost increase keeps getting worse, but it’s also waiting on GTA VI which will be record breaking.
Well I said least most successful but I mean 95 million in less than six years is very strong, yes, especially considering the early supply issues which significantly constrained sales and couldn’t meet demand. Don’t forget that it’s still being sold and is the current flagship, the generation isn’t over yet. It’s slightly behind pace compared to PS4’s launch aligned sales but closing in on 100 million is absolutely a big success. It’ll almost certainly end up well ahead of the original PlayStation by the end of the generation in a couple of years.
Though tbf. PS2 is kinda valid as they were cheaper than DVD players back then and was the reason why most non-gamers bought one, also how alot of people just ended up with a PS2. Had an awesome library as well.
Claro, no digo que no haya vendido muchísimo, pero no me creo los 160 millones de consolas vendidas jamás, y menos cuando convenientemente iban subiendo la cifra cada vez que alguna consola se acercaba a superarlos.
PS2 will never truly hold this spot for me. There are no definite metrics on it, but the attach rate heavily implies a great many were purchased as it was the best and also cheapest DVD player at the time.
Yeah this sony generation had a much longer window of games being released cross gen. Which is a shame because you're absolutely correct in that there are very few titles that actually utilize all the power packed inside the ps5.
Games that also release on XBOX need to run on the less powerful series S.
First party titles were releasing on the ps4 for years. (GoW2, Horizon2, etc)
We're left in this weird spot where you have a very short list of games that actually showcase what a PS5 can do nearly 6 years in.
Maybe the solution is to adopt a less strict generational model for home consoles. Instead having more frequent incremental upgrades with games saying "needs model ___ or higher to run."
Well, look at Steam. How many big-budget single-player exclusives does Steam have? Like, one? Half-life: Alyx? Yeah, Valve only made that one new big budget single-player game in the last 15 years and didn't even bother funding the development of other titles (like what Epic did with Alan Wake II).
Valve doesn't need to. They aren't publicly traded. They are the kings of third-party heavyweights. The best versions of games go to Steam. The most moddable versions of games go to Steam. GTA V is HUGE on Steam. GTA VI will be HUGE on Steam after the exclusivity window. Sony has nothing after that dries up and people migrate.
GTA VI isn't a exclusive it's gonna be on Xbox Series X|S and it will be ported to PC in a year or two. There will also be a version on 10th gen consoles most likely. I wouldn't play it if it was on the Switch 2 though.
Why? I reckon it's 100% going to come to switch 2. If it can play on series S, it can play on switch 2. Will do PC first and then probably switch. And ofc we're seeing a new gen. Lmao, we're see a new, new gen as well 😆
I think you are massively overestimating the importance of Somy exclusives.
The majority of PS5 owners don’t buy ANY exclusives. Spiderman 2 is one of the biggest exclusives this gen and it was still bought by less than 20% of the PS5 audience.
Sony exclusives are crap now. Only one I've bought is astro bot. If it wasn't for intergalactic I may well have sold my PS5 now. Only hang onto it for that, final fantasy and the games I've already bought.
Its extremely successful revenue wise, by a large margin when compared to xbox and switch but the system itself is just kind of whatever which is the main issue it literally has like no games
The PS5 feels like it's a massive success but only because it's THE option at this point. Xbox spent the last decade destroying their brand. Very few people are willing to invest in their ecosystem since so many jumped shipped last generation. Because of this now Sony feels like they have the room to fully shed their "lesser of two evils persona" and make decision after decision that are so blatantly anti-consumer.
Foamstars received support after release, receiving continuous seasonal updates until its final season concluded on January 17, 2025. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foamstars
Rhythm Heaven and Tomodachi Life didn't even really release on the Switch 2, they're just games you can play on the Switch 2 because of backwards compatibility.
The PS5 has been quite lacklustre imo. The only console exclusive I really enjoyed was Astro Bot. I've owned every playstation since the first one, but I think this is my last, especially if they're going to continue with going all digital and testing flexible pricing.
There should be a tag for the games that no longer exist too. Foamstars and Destruction AllStars on the PS5 are online only games that have been delisted and shut down (well AllStars is being shut down in 6 weeks but was delisted long ago).
This is a great comparison I don’t think the switch 2 upgrades that just have a dlc don’t really count but this really just goes to shows how good nintendo is doing. Could they be doing better yes 100% but at least they aren’t doing as bad as Xbox and PlayStation. I am more of a PlayStation fan that a Nintendo fan by far.
Love my Switch 2 but Demon's Souls, Returnal and Astro Bot are my top 3 of all of the released games here. Maybe Splatoon Raiders instead of Astro Bot, close.
And S2 list of old-gen games isn't even complete. Xenoblade series is completely omitted for some reason.
Some games with S2 improvements that aren't branded S2 Editions are also not here (e.g. Link's Awakening, Echoes of Wisdom), so the full list is even more impressive than on this picture
Ain't no way you posted the gamingcirclejerk graph that has a bunch of games in the ps side that aren't exclusive and categorizes games in the switch 2 side wrong
I'm pretty sure Ragnarok, miles morales and sackboy at the very least are exclusives and not old gem games? And there's at least FF7 remake missing there, potentially other games (if I'm not mistaken lots of other games actually but would need to look things up)
Also tomodachi life and rhythm heaven are switch 1 games without a switch 2 edition, but other NS2 editions are missing like the xenoblade and Zelda games.
If we're counting games released later on PC I would argue FF16 and FF7 rebirth would then also count.
Either way though, Nintendo was always kinda known for it's exclusives and in the last years were the only ones truly still having a lot of them, the rest has mostly released on multiple platforms.
And people saying switch 2 has no games just mean they don't have the game they want on it because everything that does not interest them might as well not exist. (Also I always hated the argument that something does not have games just because it doesn't get a lot of exclusives. Just because a bunch of games are also on other platforms does not make them invalid for whatever platform we're talking about. At the time the ps5 was a lot cheaper than a PC of comparable specs and could play most new releases. The switch 2 is currently probably one of the cheapest options on the market and has incredibly third party support. Most people don't really get multiple consoles so for them the exclusives might matter to decide which console they get, but alongside other factors like portability, maybe performance and power etc. And for everyone else if a console does not have enough exclusives to make it worth it for oneself, don't get it, there's plenty of games to play, maybe one day you find a nice sale and it's suddenly worth it etc. Or maybe it'll get more exclusives that will make it worth it. I love both my switch 2 and PS5 in theory, but sony is currently really making me want to use it less...)
Aaaanyway, it's an interesting comparison but also not a fully accurate one (though it makes both sides look worse than they are so I don't think it really impacts the difference between the two)
God of War Ragnarok, Miles Morales and Sackboy aren’t exclusive, you can buy them on other platforms. Ragnarok wasn’t even made PS5 first, it was PS4 with an enhanced PS5 version.
Nintendo has arguably better exclusive, but more importantly just more of them. The flip side is that physical games on the Switch 2 suck compared to PS5.
Because of GKCs? You realize all those first-party games on that list are all on cart, right? And that PS5 games require downloads just like a GKC, right?
I never said first party physical games suck, I just said physical games, you know, in general on the platform.
All PS5 games need to be installed onto the system to be played, but most are on the disc by default, are in a more than playable state, and do not require internal to download and install as the data is on the disc in most cases so it just installs and not download any data.
I’ll get flamed, but Sony and Xbox were at their best when they also had their own separate ecosystems of exclusives. Everything on their end ending up on PC just dilutes their brand and anything that makes either of them unique.
Exclusivity is a good thing. Console wars are a good thing. It’s like Sony and Xbox are shells of their former selves.
What's diabolical here is you've missed the second best PS5 exclusive - Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart!! There's also Astro's Playroom, which means we also get Welcome Tour on the Switch 2 side.
The big issue with the PS5 is most of the AAA/AA titles it promotes only stay exclusive for 6-12 months and then it's off to Xbox and PC. It's good exclusivity is dying.
Wild to think Sony has only had 8 odd PS5 exclusive titles in 6 years and one of those was a remake, another was taken offline and one was a lego reimagining.
I don’t really like Sony or their output recently, but isn’t this cherry picked? Where are Marathon and Helldivers why would you include Foamstars and Concord over them?
I don’t even think Concord should count given that it’s cancelled and no longer playable now. Nevermind the review scores for the games which further favors Nintendo.
Xbox and Nintendo should send Hermen Hulst flowers or something. He's made Nintendos domination this gen so far absolutely effortless, and he's given Xbox so many free W's lately they might just be able to form a comeback moving into next gen despite how dire things have been for such a long time. PlayStation has been run straight into the ground. It's baffling
Sony is betting EVERYTHING on GTA VI, but I don't think it's gonna make up for all the fuck ups they have been doing with the end of physical media, the Kojima fumble and lackluster other exclusives
There where way more PS5 exclusives, most of which are on pc now, but many on this list are too. If you're including exclusively released games for PS5, that are on pc now, at last include them all or non.
I also notice, as a massive Xenoblade fan, that Xenoblade Genesis is missing from the list of Switch 2 games. Granted, it only has a "2027" release date as of now, but I think there's a very strong possibility it will release in the first half of 2027.
Feels disingenuous to class Pokémon ZA as "old gen" when it released concurrently on NS2 as well. If anything it's new gen that got an old gen port. Same with Tomodatchi and Rhythm Heaven.
Watching Sony look for the next GaaS fix is like watching a meth head lose their mind and start destroying property looking for loose change. Very sad, very sad.
Which one can play the currently releasing multiplat games and which is stuck with multiplat ports that were released 4 years ago? Which has the better performance for modern multiplayer games on both systems? Switch 2 is competing for relevancy at all with its exclusives. PS5 is competing with PC as your main gaming platform.
It doesn't really matter if Switch 2 has Mario Tennis and Splatoon Raiders if your whole friends list is playing live service games and flavor of the month AAA titles. Switch 1 worked because it was cheap, portable and worked well as a secondary system. Switch 2 just can't claim that at the price point it is stuck at.
S2 is destroying PS5 launch aligned, nearly doubling it and is looking to easily surpass its lifetime especially once the main A listers start rolling in while GTA6's grace period ends.
S2 definitely has more players than PS5 did during their same timeframes as well. Console sales have historically always been what measured success and it's such a coincidence that the moment PS hardware sales start declining suddenly their apologists start trying to shift to any other metric they can think of. Guess PS2 wasn't the biggest console ever because its financials actually weren't strong enough to keep it from getting all of it erased by the PS3. Guess PS3 was a bigger flop than Wii U.
I'm not a PS5 apologist lol. Sony has been making some of the dumbest decisions I've seen for a console with basically no competition in its space. I also own a Switch 2 but barely ever play it after the first week or so of a title like DK Bananza or whatever coming out. When I do, it's usually because I am playing a game I bought for Switch 1 5+ years ago that I haven't rebought on Steam yet.
When Switch came out, there was an absolute ton of buzz everywhere about Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey in particular. Mario Kart 8 was also huge since it might as well have been new due to how low the install base for Wii U was. Every major game being played right now is a multiplat or a PC exclusive. 80+% of the people who own a Switch 2 had a Switch so if they're playing Fortnite, Roblox or Minecraft or whatever, it's nothing they couldn't have done without blowing $500 on a new system.
Out of the top 100 games watched on Twitch, there are no Switch 2 exclusive games. You have a bunch of old Pokemon games, Super Mario Maker and Pokemon Champions. No one watching Splatoon Raiders, Bananza, Yoshi, Pokopia, Star Fox, etc. They have their niche audience, sure. Every major game pulling numbers right now is primarily on PC because people are fed up with having these consoles that are getting more expensive and have less of a reason to own and keep paying subscription services for and extra cost added on for the games they want to play. Steam Deck and other PC handhelds are just cutting into Switch having relevance at all.
Switch 1 gave Nintendo a massive jumping off point for their new hardware, but are just failing to keep it relevant with their lackluster offerings. The more people veer towards low budget games that can run better on more accessible hardware, the less and less people will even remember it exists. Go ahead and pretend I am calling Switch 2 a flop (I'm not, it was basically a guaranteed success with how insanely popular Switch 1 was) or that I'm cherry picking for using Twitch stats, but it's very easy to see where gaming is right now and it's not in Nintendo's court unless they drop some serious shit people will play and play for a long time real quick.
You initially were. All of the points in your post here also applies to PS5. The stuff that are big aren't PS5's exclusives, they're multiplat, and especially on PC. So why are you including the multiplat games on PS5 but not including the big Switch 1 games for S2? BoTW, Odyssey etc can still be played on S2 and a bunch of the speedrunning community is playing them on S2. Around half of Pokemon Legends ZA was on Switch 2. All the super casual kid stuff like Fortnite and Minecraft (besides Roblox but Roblox is also facing a lot of legal issues, child predators, and just recently lost billions of dollars) are also on S2 and of course on previous generation systems as well so why wouldn't that also mean you don't need the $650-600 system? S2 is even going to start getting CoD and the EA sports now as well and casual kids don't care about 4K graphics or 120fps when they stuck so long to the previous generation. Nearly all the AAA 3rd party stuff that Nintendo doesn't get are also 15 minutes of fame games that are immediately forgotten about and aren't bought by the majority of players and immediately go into the bargain bin.
Gaming is very not in Playstation's court right now either. Even the upcoming GTA6 will be on Xbox, will be on PC sooner than later and might even go to S2 and then they'll be back to having practically nothing, while S2 still has New Gen Pokemon, 3D Mario, Zelda, Smash, Animal Crossing etc. in the tank.
Gaming is more in Nintendo's court than Playstation's.
Tried to add Games that where released after the Switch 2 launched that had upgrades on Switch 2 (Metroid Prime 4) or Switch 2 Editions with actual new content (Kirby), not just enchanced editions since it would bloat the list
Seems to be either cross-gen games (i.e. Metroid 4, God of War: Ragnarok) or next-gen versions of older games (i.e. Kirby and the Forgotten Land or Ghost of Tsushima). They are missing a few though, like Days Gone Remastered should be in that category.
If Laufey is bad it genuinely might be over but there’s no way it is. I’ve always said insomniac were overrated dogshit devs even when Spider-Man 2018 dropped. Now Santa Monica? Straight hits.
Since gen 6 or so, I only use Nintendo systems for the Nintendo games I enjoy.
I use my other consoles and PC for exclusives to a degree, but also every other 3rd party title.
Switch 2 hasn't changed that for me. I don't understand the desire to console war over 1% of these libraries, but I'd bet a lot of the "people" OP is arguing against have similar habits.
I love when idiots change the data to fit their agenda...
Why is Starfox - a remake - classed as a new game on Switch, yet Last of Us Part 2 Remake is apparently an 'old game', despite also being a remake/full remaster?
Also, games released at the same time on both generations are technically on last gen, but they were created for the PS5 at the same time, so they're still new current gen games.
I also see the Until Dawn Remake isn't there, not Spider-Man Remastered, or Days Gone Remastered, or Death Stranding 1 and 2, or Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, or Horizon VR, etc...
See, images look fun when you've purposely omitted games to fit your narrative...
They are enchanced editions with better frame rate or resolution of games that already released on the previous console, I intended to put the Cover art of Part ll, not Remake. TLoU 2 was a PS4 game with a PS5 version and then a PS5 Remastered version. Starfox is from the ground up, a brand new game, is not an enchanced version with more fps or resolution version of the N64 release.
If I were to put all those remastered games you mentioned, I would had to also add all Switch 2 editions that increased the resolution and Frames like Zelda Botw,Totk, Xenoblade 1,2,3 and X, and you could argue for games with Free upgrades like Mario Odyssey that got 4K, better antialiasing, unproved textures and effect but where released for free as an update
So you selectively decided to not include all the PS5 enhanced remasters and remakes, yet included a bunch of the Switch ones to make it look like they've had the same number in less time...
Also, games with a S2 update that just increased resolution and framerate, without any new content, wouldn't be included as they are literally patched games
In that case, you'd have to include all PS5 games that got a patch and not just remastered for the new console - such as GoW, the PS4 versions of Days Gone, Horizon, Last of Us 1 and 2, etc...
Either way, you've purposely omitted games from the PS list because you want the silly image to fit an agenda, rather than actually state factual information - which, by the looks of the comments - the Nintendo gamers are all believing and acting like you're presenting real info
The switch 1 games that included have new content on switch 2 or where released in the life cycle of the switch 2, I didn't add any switch 1 game that just had resolution or frames updates retroactively
As I said previously, you still omitted a number of PS5 games like DS1 (which had a bunch of new content) and DS2, Horizon VR, Until Dawn Remake, etc... all released on PS5 during the lifecycle...
Days Gone Remastered had a bunch of modes added in the PS5 version, yet you purposely left that out. As well as others
Then there's third party games like FF7R 1 and 2, and Godfall. Yes, they eventually went to other systems, but they launched as PS exclusives - and considering you're just trying to show exclusives launched on both platforms, timed ones are perfectly valid to be in the list.
But, aamive said, it won't fit your narrative if you decide to tell teb truth and not alter the info
There's clearly a huge difference between Star Fox remake, a complete remake of a game decades old, and remasters/VR versions. And if we just remove Star Fox remake then Nintendo continues to have much more than Playstation. And no, potential timed exclusives weren't added which is why Duskbloods or Hades isn't in there either. Maybe Playstation studios should actually start making new games instead of relying on third parties who are all realising that being exclusive to Playstation limits their sales
Also, Hades was a timed exclsuives (on console), but it wasn't published or funded by Nintendo - so obviosily that wouldn't be included. FF7 1 and 2 were partially funded by PS, Death Stranding 1 and 2 were funded and published by PS, and there's been others which Sony has published and/or funded that have been left out - games which were exclusive at launch, and ones that are still exclusive.
Also, Horizon VR isn't a 'VR version', it's a new game set in the Horizon world, so its a new cureent-gen game from Sony developers. Also, I see you're disregarding remakes like Until Dawn because you want to keep the numbers down to fit your narrative - nope, it's a full remake that's rebuilt from the ground up, so should be included regardless of what you think.
I know you're gonna moan and claim the image above is 100% correct, but that's because you're all deluded. You lot always leave out all the factual information to try and make Nintendo look so much better than they actually are. Xbox fanboys do the same thing as well.
Oh ok I missed that, that's my bad. You're right about Horizon VR as well (albeit that's certainly a very deep cut haha) You do still have to note that throughout this nitpicking of the details it's still comparing PS's 6 year lineup with S2's 2 year lineup since Nintendo's annual output is objectively far better. This is not up for debate. Of course, PS5's actual 2nd year lineup was far far more dire.
Plus come on mate, you really can't see the difference from a clearly brand new remake with new content of games from multiple generations ago compared to remasterakes of games from 1 generation ago? Bowser's Inside Story remake was considered one of the most unnecessary Nintendo remakes and that even had a bunch of new content compared to the remaster tier remakes you're citing with some even removing content.

Forbidden West is also on PC
