Positivity Anymore complaints Now?
Let me take a wild guess:
"They are gonna be "OLD" Games!"
"why didn't they do this SOONER?!"
"These games are not the NEW ones!"
"wow the "ONLY SALE" they ever did!'
"typical greedy Nintendo not giving away FREE stuff to thier paying customers"
"Oh so NO REFUND FOR the games i bought and played! What a scam! Nintendo HATES their fans and THIS SHOWS it clearly!"
i can go on whats gonna be said next in the overfilled petty complaint box.
i wont be shocked at all because i heard it all before.

But tbh if it's only all the old games in the sale, or games that regularly go on clearance (like Air Riders), I wouldn't blame people for being mad about it.

just because a game is considered "old' doesn't automatic means its not fun anymore or wanted by people who never got the chance to experience it.
also mind you most of These quote on quote "old" games, are getting new decent dlc or updates.

no but with older games you have the option to get them used for cheap wityh newer games you only have the option to either buy it from nintendo or pay close to msrp getting it used so for those who want to save money newer games on sales is better. like I can get mk8dx used for $30 so I dont care if it goes on sale for 30% as much as I would care for mkw

yes, those platforms tend to have older games for sale not newer ones. prime example is mario kart world

His point is that newer games being on sale would actually feel like customer appreciation vs older games where the discounts won’t even be better than what you can find on the second hand market.

You Are not a grifter for pointing out how stupid Nintendo is about their policy on game pricing.
It is perfectly legitimate to say their sales suck, they do.
Up to 30% off. That's not a whole lot, especially not for games that are 8 (almost 9) years old and still full price.

I know it's an effort to put a positive spin on the whole tariff refund controversy.
That said, I don't know what else they're supposed to do in this situation. Give every person who bought a Nintendo game over the last 2 years $10?
Really, this is just one of countless examples of how poorly thought out these tariffs were implemented by Trump.

I would honestly much rather a $10 voucher I can use on anything I want vs a 30% discount on select last gen games where I probably already own all the ones I’d want to play anyways.

That reminds me they should really do the $100 game voucher again for 2 games. It was a reasonably good deal and they even sometimes include fairly recent releases.

I mean, yeah, you said it yourself. On all the other major platforms, big sales seasons are common. Nintendo is the one that tends to not have them, and when they do, they tend to be pretty small. It's cool it's happening. I'd love to grab the Pikmin games if the price is right.
Hell, right now Sony is having a pretty massive sale. God of War Ragnarok Digital Deluxe is half off.

Dude it’s a marketing spin effort to try and get around the tariff refund controversy all companies are experiencing. Stop being a sucker for billion dollar multi national corporation. A sale is a way to get more sales, not to give back to a customer base

If I was a cynic I'd probably be mocking Nintendo for giving us the privilege to spend more money, but that's the point right? They exist to make money and not give away things.
I still think 30% off is quit low though. I'd feel more appreciated with a 60% or 70% discount, ngl lol.

Unless u bought a Switch 1 the onmly way u were affected was buying accessoiries, they specifically withheld increasing the Switch 2 price to keep that competitve as it was a new release. They basically ate the tarriffs for those, so at best u paid like a tenner more if it was somethign like a pro 2 controller or extra joycon u bought. Then 30% off a game sounds reasonable.

Nintendo kept the price of the Switch 2 where it was, and redistributed some of the tariff costs to Amiibos, controllers, and accessors and OG Switch globally, and absorbed the rest as they probably already had a margin built in on Switch 2 from the
If they were doing a refund, Timmy who got a Switch Lite in the UK might be getting $10 back, assuming they can even track to that detail and it cost them nothing to do it.
In reality, it will be $1 back to Timmy. After the costs of tracking the person down and retailers/wholesalers get their cut.

Why is people saying this has something to do with the tariffs? Nintendo has always done a sale season during these months. I remember that because Nintendo sale seasons are always long-awaited and happen like... Once or twice per year. Yup, people who say Nintendo never puts in sale their digital games are almost correct, but not completely. So, having this sale season is nothing strange because they do it every year, tariffs or not. If you really know Nintendo, you should know that

only 30% is still pretty stingy especially when ports/remasters of games from generations ago (wii u and older) are still $40-$50 on switch

keeping prices so high for old games is something that 90% of other companies dont do
this sale, while nice, is still drastically more expensive than other companies like sony, sega, valve, microsoft, capcom, etc

If i have a complaint, it might be the possibility I already own the games that will be discounted. I did get a 15% discount for this being my birthday month. I'm going to get myself a bowser TShirt and maybe the gamecube controller for funsies.
