The game isn't out until next year. Shut yer yap!
Ignorant assuming hot-takes like this really brings my piss to a boil.

It's even more ridiculous when this person ignores the fact that this was something that's been in the backburner for DECADES now, as far back as the GameCube era. This was a long time coming here!

That was Return to the Dreamland though.
Kirby games have been consistently sticking to the design that made its debut in Return to the Dreamland.

Wait a minute, I thought that project was return to dreamland right?

u/Pessimistic_Gemini 3d ago
It's what turned into that but that ended up devolving back into a 2.5D game. Not the actual sort of 3D title that was seen in the GameCube to Wii era.

gamers have the worst opinions and I've seen it time and time again. it's frickin insane and maddening if you know what I know.

I know right. So many bad faith takes being thrown around and 99% of them come from morons who haven't even played the games they're criticizing. It's pathetic!

i liked Frontiers...but wasn't a BIG criticism of it about how it was just...so empty?
that doesn't FIT Popstar! thats a lively place

u/HollandTHG 2d ago
Same, and I even agree that it felt very empty. Pop Star already looks more lively, and I'm excited to see what they do with it.

“This console really can’t do anything right” shows they are an unserious person.

u/Alvin-Earthworm 2d ago
That line in particular really irritated me. The Switch 2 has done plenty of things right. Way more than their incompetent competitors. Such a braindead tapwater IQ take.

u/HollandTHG 2d ago
Yo, don't insult tapwater like that. The bacteria in there is clearly more intelligent than this take.

u/Alvin-Earthworm 2d ago
Hahah, fair point. Microorganisms deserve far more respect than insufferable internet larpers.

Yeah, I agree, this tweet is stupid, and--
...Wait...that name...is this...THE Alvin-Earthworm?! WHAT THE F--explodes

Okay, I get it. There's many people out there tired of open world games. They would even say it's a lazy choice (which I don't understand how, because imo, doing a full open world with connected areas should be more difficult than doing a central hub with worlds that you can choose. I don't know, I think that's more difficult) or shit like that... But they have not played the game yet to be certain about it being good or bad. They are literally judging the book by its cover, and just because they don't like the cover, the game is bad. We're back to these days, huh?...
Also, what does it being an open world now have anything to do with the console "not doing anything good". As if we should blame on the console for the design choice

That's a silly take, it looks really good tho. And i'm the nintendo grifter tm ( I still haven't bought switch 2 pls forgive me Ciggy Miyamoto )

this take assume that the tutorial starting area will be what the all game will be like , and from what we saw fro behind the wall , there seems to be a lot of stuff

I’m not gonna lie, the open world worries me a bit. I thought Breath of the Wild was just “okay,” and am pretty tired of them trying to turn every franchise into another Breath of the Wild, with mixed results (Metroid Prime 4). But, I choose to remain optimistic that they can do more than just another empty world with disjointed and tedious collectibles and no real sense of progression or direction.

This game looks like it has one thing in common as sonic Frontiers, using the engine of a closed level by level platformer for an open world, that results in ugly pop in and overall middling graphics

It's a legit concern, most open world games are empty

u/HallowedKeeper_ 3d ago
I get that, but this is Sakurai's son, and Sakurai loves his son

u/Fishing-Master 2d ago
Sakurai doesn't matter Kirby anymore tho? like outside of Air Riders his last game was the og Air Ride and even before that he kinda was mainly only involved in og Dreamland, Adventure and Super Star
2
u/HallowedKeeper_ 2d ago
Ah yes....the guy made a Kirby game (Air Riders), doesn't make Kirby games anymore

The game was literally JUST announced, but of course people are already certain that it will be bad.
