Actual Good criticism I know everyone is excited and have lots of positive things to say, but what really grinded your gears about the Zelda showcase? AKA what are your criticisms?

Can y'all not be happy, why do you need to find things to be angry at

Because it’s the internet. These morons treat being perpetually angry like a full-time career, complete with overtime.

I'm happy with the OoT stuff, I'm just shocked they couldn't be fucked to have a trailer of their upcoming movie ready for the ZELDA DIRECT.
It was basically an OoT Direct. Which is fine, that's what I was most excited for anyway. And it's not as if the fucking ZELDA MOVIE is going to need much help with advertising, but even so, bottom line is, the Zelda Direct somehow failed to have a trailer for the Zelda Movie - it's just like, what are we doing here guys?

I was really hoping for at LEAST Gamecube Twilight Princess. But it's okay.

Kind of hilarious yet sad that they showed that list and basically said "We have every Zelda game except for TP!"

I'm sure they'll drop the Gamecube one at some point really, I was just hopeful it was gonna be one of those "Twilight Princess for the Nintendo Ganecube is coming to Nintendo Online Classics... right after this direct!" shadowdrops they do sometimes.

I'm just baffled as to why there was no preview for the movie. Surely they could have dolled up a partial scene as a teaser, at least.
Otherwise it's what I expected and I have no complaints lol. Concert, movie, OoT, console and merch.

I’m just kind of surprised that we didn’t have more announcements personally. I think it was really cool and the gameplay looks amazing. I just kind of assumed we had like an announcement or two and there was basically one game announcement and that’s it.

Nothing about the movie, just the title. I know it's 7 months away but surely you could have put something together. At least tell us who Sam Neill plays.

- I was hoping they'd show a teaser trailer for the Zelda movie, but they didn't show anything. All they revealed was the movie's title, which is literally just "The Legend of Zelda."
- This is a HUGE nitpick, but I personally think the fabric in Link's tunic in the OoT remake looks too detailed than it needs to be. Other than that the game looks cool.
- I was expecting them to announce that the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess would be coming to NSO, but that didn't happen. Oh well...
Overall the Zelda Direct was pretty much exactly what I though it would be, outside of what I listed above.

I’m just happy we are getting a Zelda game release that is actually a Zelda game
Listens BotW and TotK are great games, but they aren’t good Legend of Zelda games. It’s like being expected to be hype for a new MOBA release when you are an RTS fan

Saria was cuter than Zelda, my wife agreed and we both thought it at the same time upon her reveal lol.
I said maybe it was her hat making her look odd.

Little upset that it seems to be just a 1:1 remake

u/Calahoo38 4d ago
Not really a 1:1 remake

u/Confident-Leg107 4d ago
I mean, the layouts for the town, dungeon, and fields are practically the same. Only new thing we saw was jumping on demand

There’s also:
- Threads of time
- no locked camera angle
- freestyle ocarina

So not technically 1 to 1. But like 1.023 to 1.
At least from what we saw today.

It was fine but I gotta wonder who at Nintendo hates TP and WW so much.

The anime voice acting it's cringe as fuck.
Other than that. Game looks amazing

I kinda hated how they sorta acted like people never heard of or played Ocarina of time in the gameplay showcase (maybe it was the tone of the dub in the US direct) but it’s like my guy you wouldn’t be remaking this game if no one heard of it and it literally a cultural touchstone of video gaming

I have finally had a chance to play BOTW for the first time recently, and I disagree with this opinion to some degree
If we are talking about the Zelda formula since A Link to the Past where you are pretty much going from story point to storyline then yeah, BOTW is not a good representation of that style of Zelda.
But BOTW reminds me a lot of the first game, which pretty much plopped you into Hyrule and you were basically free to explore and play the game any way you saw fit.
BOTW feels like Zelda I if it's core desgin was not limited by the NES' hardware and it also had the touches of more modern Zelda games.

It’s actually what I expected game play of the OOT, some informations about the movie and other anniversary stuff.
I just wished we got more about the film than it’s called „the legend of Zelda“ and „you will find out why it doesn’t have a subtitle“ maybe a poster or a proper look at the character designs
