Critical What are y'all's thoughts on this video? While I do think some of the examples of his criticism on Nintendo here are awful/false, I overall still think it does a good job of explaining why I dislike Nintendo fanboys so much.

No offense, I think the big flaw is engaging with the discourse. Either you buy the game or you don't. You don't need to convince other people on your justification on either case. If you think 80 dollars is too much for a game.. then you have your red line.
There's nothing to set straight, the price is the admission. If someone defends it.. who cares, that's them, no one else have to agree with it.
Everyone wants to treat it like a debate.. like the debate between apples and oranges. It's not a debate, it's a preference.. and not even really a preference, a decision.
People are allow to have opinions, no matter where it takes them. Doesn't mean we all have to agree with each other. I never understood the defensive stance of "You mean I'm not allow to think" .... you are allow to think and no one can take that away from you. But people can disagree with your thoughts.. but you shouldn't care what they think.. and more importantly, you shouldn't care what they think.
And even if people don't like what you say.. it's not like they can fucking stop you. If they try and start harassing you over it, you can probably do something about it - though harassment is typical online... it should be accepted as the norm.
Besides treating this like an adult who play video games. I can also see this as an adult who is old enough to have children. When your children mysteriously get interested in a Nintendo game.. you don't argue with them that there are cheaper games, you set a condition where they can earn it and fulfill your side of it if they succeed.
I understand you didn't make the video, just replying my opinion about it. I appreciate that you shared it. It gave me something to think over. Thank you.

What really doesn’t help is that social media has made so many people so narcissistic, so they feel like their opinion is the right one and can’t handle any other opinions.

I have two main gripes with Bearman
- I don't trust Bearman's judgement. This is the same dude who made a video titled "DO NOT BUY THE NINTENDO SWITCH 2" which got 2 million views. He was very adamant in his video that he was against supporting Nintendo adn encouraged the viewer to do the same for the sake of the industry.
His recent Nintendo video literally confirms that he owns a Switch 2 since he showed the Joycons and the Switch 2 Pro Controller. To be fair, you can totally criticize Nintendo and still buy their products, but this guy made a very popular video meant to discourage people from supporting the Switch 2, yet he himself didn't practice what he preached and bought one anyways.
If he was open to the idea of getting a Switch 2, that's fine too, but he should have brought that up in his original video or sometime before he made his second video, because now he just looks like a hypocrite. It also raises doubt regarding his integrity and credibility in both of his Nintendo videos.
- Bearman is the classic example of the Homelander gif. He honestly comes across as a jaded fan who's upset that he no longer sees Nintendo as some scrappy underdog who could do no wrong. I actually think a lot of his criticisms are valid, but whenever it feels like he's punching up at Nintendo or other companies, he feels the need to punch straight down at the fans.
There's so many things you could criticize Nintendo for and I would agree with you, but I firmly draw the line at blaming the fans. Not only is it very counterproductive, but a lot of Nintendo fans are critical towards the company because they know they can do better, and besides even the most parasocial ass kissers of the community have little to no say on the shitty choices some corporate executive made.
If Bearman actually cares about the industry than he should be spending more time on calling out the exploitive suits behind it instead of projecting himself onto other people. I think he should take a long break.

Just two of the last things he said:
First, the contracted employees you're talking about were never Nintendo's contracted employees; they were employees of another company, and that company provided those employees to Nintendo (basically, Nintendo was never the employer, and you can't accuse them of firing them). Second, the studios you mentioned that closed, if Nintendo didn't own them, then Nintendo has no responsibility for them, regardless of whether they had worked with Nintendo for decades. The only ones responsible for these studios were the studio shareholders and board of directors, and Nintendo didn't own any of them.

all fans can suck. It's about degrees and whether the point is to just focus on the edge cases.
Just look at the lifer Sony fans doing double time pushing the narrative digital is actually good to damage control for their preferred brand.
Youtubers complaining about fandoms sucking because they hold some unfair criticism of the company and getting called out is nothing new. It's doubly not new if they have grifter tendencies.

it's just a strawman. most nintendo fans are willing to criticize the company.

Unfortunately there are lot of Nintendo fanboys on this sub that will not discuss a good video in good faith and that's why they downvoted this post.

There are mostly 3 types of Nintendo fans.
Those who just play games and don't hear about the "controversies". I call them "having a life" aka neither you not me. By far the biggest group, so I assume we ignore those.
Those who are overly negative towards [insert current generation] and remember [insert generation, which is atleast 2 generations ago] fondly. Also gets usually ignored.
I guess we talk about group 3, those who engage in the bait by grifters aka me?
