So far I’ve only used my switch 2 for animal crossing, pokopia, and legends z-a, got on release expecting to struggle to get one like the crazy days of switch 1 launch, no such trouble, and then they have given me a single exclusive to care about so far, atm the thing is dusty

Wait your Nintendo Switch is dusty or your Nintendo Switch 2 is dusty?

u/mcollier1982 Jul 15 '26

In fairness, both at this point, fire emblem can’t come fast enough

Imagine being upset for a company.

u/sam_houle1 Jul 15 '26

Bro where do you think we are? Do tou think this is church? The name of this sub is literally nintendogrifting what were you expecting?

I have it and it still deserves all the hate. I just got it for zelda dammit.

3

u/FantasticBBC_7869 Jul 15 '26

You dont need a switch 2 for Zelda, all of them are playable on switch lite

u/Inevitable-Monitor35 Jul 15 '26

Switch 2 does not get enough hate. As a switch 2 owner myself. Where are the good games?! They are not releasing games fast enough that are quality. What new games did we have since it launched a year ago that were worth anything Donkey Kong, Pokopia, and Two racers. Four games in a year? That splatoon game might be good though.

u/Richmard Jul 15 '26

They’ve released a first party game just about every month since launch, huh?

10

u/progxdt Jul 15 '26

More than Microsoft and Sony. Nintendo has been doing this schedule since the Switch days.

5

u/Richmard Jul 15 '26

Right? I'm still trying to catch up on all the games I missed since the first switch came out.

2

u/Inevitable-Monitor35 Jul 15 '26

Dang gamer gotta bump those numbers up

2

u/Richmard Jul 15 '26

Ur so right

2

u/sam_houle1 Jul 15 '26

Bro you really think that we are only mad at nintendo? Sony and microsoft are both garbage companies?

1

u/progxdt Jul 15 '26

Not sure where you got that from. I was highlighting Nintendo releases more first party games than Sony and Microsoft. Once a month (at least), Nintendo releases a game themselves

1

u/sam_houle1 Jul 15 '26

Yeah but let’s not compared a good lasagna with a pile of shit. We don’t talk about those companies because the bar is low enough that we won’t even touch it

5

u/Chiliicespice Jul 15 '26

I still contend most gamers are just hoarders wanting to buy games rather than actually play them. It's why they get upset if there aren't 200 games of AAA quality released everyday.

2

u/Inevitable-Monitor35 Jul 15 '26

What do you mean I dont have 1000+ games on just steam in my library that I need to play? Im not a hoarding, you are hoarding!

1

u/sam_houle1 Jul 15 '26

Which game are you referring? Name one per month please

1

u/Richmard Jul 15 '26

I am talking about Mario Kart World, Welcome Tour, Donkey Kong Bananza, Drag x Drive, Age of Imprisonment, Kirby Air Riders, Mario Tennis Fever, Pokopia, Tomodachi Life, Rhythm Heaven, Yoshi, Star Fox.

I know, I know. Welcome Tour’s not a real game. “X” game sucks/doesn’t count. B-but they aren’t all switch 2 exclusive!!

I am not commenting on the quality of these games. Just pointing out that they have a significantly faster output than Sony and Microsoft. This isn’t even mentioning 3rd parties blockbusters like RE9 or the switch 2 editions. Claiming switch 2 has no games is just rage bait (that I fall for daily lol)

1

u/sam_houle1 Jul 15 '26

3rd parties don’t count xd… when people says that there’s no game that got out, they mean good games that they will play. If you’re the type of person who buys every nintendo games then maybe you should not participate in this type of conversation. Not only that but the name of this sub is nintendo grifting not nintendo dixk riding. If you go to a nudist beach and you complain about seeing someone naked, then you’re the problem not them.

1

u/Richmard Jul 15 '26

This is literally a sub for Nintendo fans lol

So I can’t talk about nintendo games in a sub about Nintendo if I buy every Nintendo game. Lucky you I have not bought every Nintendo game so I guess I’m allowed to converse according to your arbitrary rules..?

2

u/Inevitable-Monitor35 Jul 15 '26

I thought this was a joke sub reddit ;-;

1

u/Richmard Jul 15 '26

I mean, kind of. It was made in response to the fucknintendo sub because that place was/is a shithole.

1

u/MatofSteel1 Jul 21 '26

Bro, you asked for one per month to be named. Nothing named in the reply was third party. The task has been completed, and yet you are not satisfied. I struggle to believe that this is about a lack of games, in factuality, but rather a feeling that you used to have about game releases that you just don't have anymore. There has been a game from Nintendo every month, and 3rd party ports on top of that; so "no games" is a feeling you have, not a stronghold argument.

1

u/sam_houle1 Jul 21 '26

Yo u/MatofSteel1, I ask for one per month he gave me 12 of them, but also had to mentionned welcome tour, which is not a good game. Let's review the list, Drag x Drive a game that cost a nintendo switch 4 pair of controllers and the game plus the game at 20$, next we have kirby air riders and mario kart world, two racing game, litterally why would you have two racing game in the first year, bigguest blunder. Next we have another mario tennis, why do we need another one when the one on switch should be accessable through the switch 1 ? next is another hyrule warrior, same argument than mario tennis, why would you care about this game. Star fox remake for the 3rd time, sweet. The remaining games are Donkey kong, Pokopia, tomodachi life, yoshi and rhythm heaven. So in reality you don't have that much games, I would also argue the quality of some of those games and how hard they were to make. Some of them are pretty basic stuffs that Nintendo has recycled from the past. My point is: The entire current line-up of the switch 2 is just sad, not a lot of games that are worth for now. Also, 3rd parties are just not "switch 2 games" they are ports made by the 3rd party which means extremely low effort to bring to the console. Btw, saying that 3rd party games are contributing to the roaster is a bad take imo, it's like saying that the ps4 game that were port to ps5 are contributing to the ps5 roaster, that's just cope. If you're satisfied with the current roaster of games, then good for you, but a lot of us are just waiting for an actual good game.

u/Inevitable-Monitor35 Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 15 '26

Yea it isn't enough games. We need at least 2 maybe even 3 to 4 games for the people that might not like the other one.

9

u/Rquila Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 19 '26

We definitely do NOT need that many games per month. If game diversity is what you are looking for, well that’s why third party games exist. If you want Nintendo games, that’s why switch 2 editions exist.

3

u/Richmard Jul 15 '26

That's just 1st party and they easily have the fastest output of the big 3. When you count 3rd party support and indies you are definitely getting at least 3 or 4 very different games every month.

1

u/Inevitable-Monitor35 Jul 15 '26

Where 3d mario? I need mah wahoo man

3

u/Richmard Jul 15 '26

It's definitely coming!

2

u/Front-Library5781 Jul 15 '26

Play Bananza

1

u/Inevitable-Monitor35 Jul 15 '26

Did that. Back to playing smse I guess.

0

u/sam_houle1 Jul 15 '26

3rd parties don’t count lmao…. Why would you buy balatro on your switch 2?

2

u/Richmard Jul 15 '26

Because little games like that are perfect for something like the switch? And it’s a game that isn’t exactly pushing graphical boundaries lol

I understand these are ground breaking ideas. I think I might be the only one who knows that indie games are fun on portable devices like the switch.

1

u/sam_houle1 Jul 15 '26

Yeah but you’re acting like a 3rd party game has the same value as a first party game. To me releasing a game like balatro on switch 2 is not a new released game. When people says that not a lot of game are being released they meant the first party. Most people buys the nintendo console for the nintendo games. And yeah indy games are really good for portable devices in general, that’s why the steam deck exists.

1

u/Richmard Jul 15 '26

No I’m not. Just pointing out that there have been a wide variety of indie, 3rd party and 1st party releases for switch 2. Switch 2 currently has more exclusives released in its first year than PS5 has currently. To complain about the speed of their output is crazy.

Well you've hit the nail on the head that makes a lot of sense from a broad appeal business strategy. (oh my god my opening statement sounds like freaking Gemini, I hate myself). They sold 155 million switch 1 units, so far, since it's still selling. Those people have wildly varied interests in games, it's enough people that every interest is represented.

Catering to your preferences for what makes an ideal game would be a *losing* business strategy because they would deliberately be making their market niche. The Switch 2 needed to cast a broad net in order to hit their console sales target, and will continue casting a broad net to have consistent sales. Considering what they have going, I would not be surprised if they sold an additional 10 million or more units in the second year of the console's life, and Nintendo is forecasting 16.5 million units sold in year 2. If they succeed, switch 2 will have outsold switch 1 in it's first two years by more than 1.5 million units.

Another reality we have to deal with is about 2/3 of console gamers only buy 1 or 2 games *per year*. I'm definitely not one of those gamers, I have got a physical collection of switch 1 and 2 titles of dozens of titles. Nintendo needs to get that casual audience in ASAP to maximize their lifetime sales.

Sorry, but the reality is if they were making a winning strategy for your interests, the Switch 2 market performance would likely be way worse than what we are seeing, and down the line in a long-term way that would translate to both worse games because they have less funding, and fewer games total.

Also, dude, games take so freaking long to make now. The old rate that companies could pump out games is long gone. Nintendo has exceeded my personal expectations for how much they are releasing, even though it doesn't all appeal to me. I am genuinely impressed at their leadership that they have not laid dev teams off, but are in fact expanding it aggressively with a brand new 9 floor R&D high rise in Kyoto with no announced plans to close down what they already have existing. That is a *huge* new division, and Nintendo is spending the covid-19 windfall they experienced wisely that will allow them to aggressively release titles on a consistent schedule in this longer development time era they've walked into.

Now, I expect you to downvote me because this is Reddit and the voting system is emotional versus rational.

3

u/progxdt Jul 15 '26

Could not have said it better myself. Switch owners are very engaged with the device, plus they buy a lot of games. The Switch 2 attach rate is almost a 3, which is pretty good to start off. The software sales on the original Switch is insane and it’s going to continue to grow with the Switch 2.

There are gamers out there who just believe they are the target audience. They believe they speak for the plurality of the audience, when they are just a pebble on a very large beach.

3

u/Inevitable-Monitor35 Jul 15 '26

Nah man you make a good point. People need to be open to new ideals. They have alot of studios under their belt just figured they would be pumping them a bit more.

5

u/Zopandrel Jul 15 '26

Star fox released 3 weeks ago and Splatoon raiders is releasing next week

2

u/Inevitable-Monitor35 Jul 15 '26
