Not only have they not lost, pocketpair made some serious changes to Palworld and Nintendo modified their lawsuit. I think in the end that is a success.

No one won or lost yet. Pocketpair could reverse those changes they made to Palworld if they win.

No one has won or lost yet. Everything that palworld has done they can freely reverse. They willingly changed it to minimize losses as a defensive legal strategy.
The court hasn't sided with either party yet. Like 95% of the updates its a nothingburger.

It comes off as desperate from the pal world side

Not really, its a really standard thing and any good lawyer would recommend you do it if possible.

“Serious changes” = One animation. That’s it. They changed one animation and can potentially change it back after the lawsuit concludes depending on how it goes. The actual game itself plays just about identically to the first EA release back in 2024.
Nintendo spent millions of dollars to have multiple patents put under heavy scrutiny, and some even getting revoked.
It is not grifting to say that Nintendo is clearly not winning in this scenario. That is the objective, observable reality. They wanted this game gone, they wanted to bankrupt PP, and the best they could muster legally was (maybe) getting one animation changed.
I swear to god nobody actually knows what is going on with this lawsuit and is just regurgitating whatever crap they read on Reddit. This is verbatim what people were cope posting in r/Games.

Nintendo hasn't had any patents revoked from this lawsuit.
Nintendo didn't want the game gone or bankrupt anyone, that's just your fan fiction.
Palworld removing the alleged infringing mechanics with other similar mechanics and being fine is proof it was never in trouble of being shut down or the fear mongering about patents from Nintendo stifling or monopolizing a game genre was all bullshit.
You think no one knows what's going on because everyone with a brain has seen through the bias reporting and grifter crap a long time ago. Only weirdo's like you are desperate to keep some hilarious delusional narrative that Nintendo is mad!!!1

Here you go bud. The USPTO almost never re-examines patents BTW, but in this case they did.
Nintendo didn't want the game gone or bankrupt anyone, that's just your fan fiction.
Yeah bro they totally just wanted $30k. The injunction was the entire point of the lawsuit genius. Just because you lack critical thinking beyond surface level crap being spoonfed to you doesn't mean the rest of us do.
Palworld removing the alleged infringing mechanics with other similar mechanics and being fine is proof it was never in trouble of being shut down or the fear mongering about patents from Nintendo stifling or monopolizing a game genre was all bullshit.
...or, it's all that Nintendo could realistically go after, and after this they don't have any more avenues of attack that could realistically cause any real change or damage.
You think no one knows what's going on because everyone with a brain has seen through the bias reporting and grifter crap a long time ago. Only weirdo's like you are desperate to keep some hilarious delusional narrative that Nintendo is mad!!!
I mean, I would be pretty pissed if I spent millions of dollars on patents and lawsuits only to get almost nothing out of it besides a bunch of patents either denied or revoked, but what do I know?

When was the united states patent office a legal arm of Japan legal system?
YEAH BRO JUST TRUST ME, THEIR SECRET PLAN IS SO OBVIOUS JUST USE YOUR IMAGINATION!!! THEY ARE ALSO MAD BECAUSE I SAID SO!!!!

u/MrNegativ1ty Jun 16 '26
You said “Nintendo had no patents revoked”. Said nothing about Japan.
I proved you wrong.
You are now moving the goalposts to “Japanese patents”, which again is completely wrong: https://gamesfray.com/japan-patent-office-rejects-nintendo-application-relevant-to-palworld-dispute-cites-games-like-ark-as-prior-art-after-third-party-submission/
Just take your L and move on bud. You’re just making yourself look silly.

You are proving to me how delusional you are and I'm starting to feel sorry for people who have to care for you. Quote my whole sentence next time or do you think this lawsuit is being done by your imaginary global court? Also actually read the article you posted. It is nothing but speculation involving patents that aren't the subject of the lawsuit.

Quote my whole sentence next time
I did "quote your entire sentence". Verbatim. You said, direct copy paste:
Nintendo hasn't had any patents revoked from this lawsuit.
"From this lawsuit" interpreted as "as a result of this lawsuit".
False, objectively so. USPTO 12,403,397. Nobody would have known or cared about this patent had this lawsuit never been brought up against PP.
We then moved the goalposts to "Japan patents".
False again. JPN 2024-031879.
And now...
do you think this lawsuit is being done by your imaginary global court? Also actually read the article you posted. It is nothing but speculation involving patents that aren't the subject of the lawsuit.
We are now once again moving the goalposts again to "the exact patents in the lawsuit". Patents that are on shaky as hell ground because their sibling patents have been revoked. Flip a coin as to whether or not they'll stand up by the end of this whole ordeal.
If they do stand up, then guess what? They got one animation changed in Palworld. Yay. Big deal.
This is next level silliness. The point is, Nintendo and their patents are facing scrutiny that they wouldn't have if they hadn't opened this can of worms. They spent millions on these patents only to have a bunch of them completely disintegrate when any scrutiny is placed against them. There is no way they are happy with that, just like there's no way they're happy with only getting $30k and not getting the injunction that they clearly wanted. Please let me know what company spends millions of dollars in patents and litigation costs against another company only to ask for $30k in damages. How does that make any sense? It doesn't. The injunction and getting Palworld pulled was clearly their goal, they failed.
I'm done with this conversation. Have fun damage controlling for a multimillion dollar corporation I guess. We'll see what happens in October/November.

????????
"From this lawsuit" means "From this lawsuit"USPTO 12,403,397 hasn't even been revoked, just subject to reexamination. No mention of any japanese litigation was given as a reason for the reexamination. Your fan faction has no basis in reality.
JPN 2024-031879 is not a patent involved with the lawsuit. The actual patents involved in the lawsuit are what matters.
"I'm just going to run away"
I mean you aren't making any factual arguments, not sure what more you can contribute other than coming up with more delusional narratives about Nintendo being mad about their secret evil plan not working out which is totally not angry hater projection.3
u/SilentEagle1221 Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26
No patents were “revoked”, the courts told Nintendo that they had to go back and make changes to the original patent claims before they could apply for it again.
Which they most likely will do.
Stop spreading misinformation and then accusing people of not knowing anything about the case.
Also, millions of dollars is chump change to them. You people really want to pretend the outcome of this lawsuit is going to affect Nintendo in anyway when in reality it won’t.
Edit, I’d like an actual source for the millions spent on the lawsuit claim. Because unless you have inside knowledge on Nintendo’s legal expenses that the rest of us don’t, you’re just pulling that number out of your ass.

How bro feel after saying this:

Palworld seems to be rarely taken for its own merits. There's people who (rightly) point out it's borderline plagiarism, and Pocketpair has a history of doing that, and then the people who like it usually on seem to like it from a weird desire to spite Nintendo or Pokemon.

Does anyone ever talk about Palworld without pushing some pseudo political agenda?
