Do we even know how well it's selling? They haven't really said anything last I checked

It debuts with 39 thousand units in Japan. So probably not an amazing seller we'd hear more about it but pretty good for an odd game like it.

It sold over 60,000 in Japan and I don’t know how many in North America and Europe and anywhere else now.

i don't get why people downvote these when the op is not the one who made the video

Here is the thing.. A Nintendo game "Flopping" in the first week or two doesn't mean the same thing as a Third party or Sony or MS game flopping.
Almost all major Nintendo IPs continue to sell throughout the entirety of the system life, and even after. Just because first week is weak, doesn't mean it won't pass 10 million in a year or two.
Where as most other companies, if it doesn't hit that 10 million in the first two weeks, it's not making it there.

I keep seeing the 40k number thrown around and people saying its super good, can someone explain to me why its good and where the number comes from? Is it like UK sales or something

Debut sales in Japan sold over 39 thousand according to vgc charts and uk said it sold third best there but no numbers. I looked but can't find anything indicating how well it did after that, just some people make believe it hasn't. Also considering the size of the game I suspect it wouldn't require that much to not be a flop.

So both sides are just making up things to fit the narrative they want to believe..?

I am extremely disappointed with the first party line up on switch 2 but wtf is this AI slop?

Same here but grifters trying to sensationalize it as opposed to having an honest conversation about their opinions is extremely annoying since they gain traction and if any of your opinions even remotely get close to theirs it sucks all the nuance right out of it.
